COMPUTER TRIP Pei GinkiGis [Sok VM A. The Future Mathematicians of America (F.M.A.), commonly known to the students of Madera High as the Math Club, was one of the new clubs formed this year. Members of this club are students who are taking or who have taken an advanced math class such as Algebra II, Intermediate Math, or Trigonometry. This club’s main purpose is to stimulate and increase an interest in math. The club has already heard from a speaker from McLane High School and visited the Computer there. CHEMISTRY CLUB CHEMISTRY JUNIORS— oe One of the new clubs formed this year was the Chemistry Club. This club was assembled for the purpose of interested chemistry students to be able to take field trips as a group. The advisor of this club, Ms. Cadenazzi, also helps in creating an interest by the mere fact that she teaches Chemistry here at school. Their first trip took them to Berkeley to visit the Science Department and view its Bevatron. The Mediterranean Club is Truly International The 105 member Mediterranean Club was designed to help students of different backgrounds learn and experience their cultures. The advisor, Mr. Pia, is well experienced, in that he teaches French, Italian, and Spanish, and has visited many of the Mediterranean countries. Some of the club’s events of this year have been, a Christmas dance and food drive in December, and a dinner dance and field trip in the spring. The club has also helped in making International Week a huge success. In addition, the club has raised money to possibly give scholarships to deserving seniors.
