FBLA Has Busy Year The Future Business Leaders of America is a national youth organization for any student enrolled in high school business programs interested in joining. Led by Advisor Mr. Gary Melvin, the club sponsored many annual events this year that helped in molding skills needed for the business world. The many conferences and efficiency contests were such events. In October they had their fund-raising activities for their field trip to San Francisco in November. In December, their concern was focused on a needy family and presented them with a food parcel for the club’s community service project. The conferences and competition then followed with the spelling and typing contests winding up the year. The officers for the ‘74-75 year were President-Lori Leach, Vice President-Donna Garrison, Treasurer-Terry Dawson, and Secretary- Gracie Griffin. AFS Has ‘“Fun-tastic’’ Year Many enlightening events sparked an exciting year for the American Field Service Club. Of the many find-raising projects, probably the most exciting was the basketball game of the Redheads versus the men’s faculty, in which half the proceeds went to the club. Other projects included an International dinner in February, and a German candy sale. They also sponsored an AFS student from Venezuela staying in Exeter for Exchange week. All these projects were designed to sponsor Marcel Mattingly, our own AFS student to Argentina, and Rudolf Wenz, our foreign exchange student from West Germany, who stayed with the Dr. McClure family during the year. The AFS club helps students to explore and examine many nationalities. It shows that there is definitely an “International Flavor,” in our own community. Wenz, L. Ring, E. Pisano, M. Mendez, S. Bacon, K. Steinhouser, and Mr. Zupanovich: e, R. | Durbin, G. Poli, D. Stuckey, and K. Johnson. SECOND ROW: S. Dee, J. Nishimoto, nd Yo == Williams. FRONT ROW: W. Suneson, R. Santos, K. Johnson, D. Milhiem, M. Karen Johnson and Suzanne Dee portray Mary and Joseph, with Marcel Mattingly as the manger and Rudi Wenz as the donkey, in their version of the Christmas Story at th Christmas party. ‘Light Up With Fashion .. .’’ . . . Was the theme for this year’s Fashion Show put on by the Fashion Merchandising Class. Two shows were held on March 20, one during lunch, and the other that same evening. Twenty-one girls modeled fashions from the past, present, and future with Geraldine Harvey and Peggy Watrous as the commentators to the sounds of Welfare. Special features of the show were Mr. Brunolli modeling a Roman greek out fit, and Mr. Zupanoich acting as the father of the bride in the Bridal Procession.
