Madeira High School Mnemonic 1-971 072 S elf-K nozoledge And a man said, Speak to us of Self-knowledge. Aud he answered, saying: Your hearts Imow in silence the secrets of the days and nights. But your ears thirst for the sound of your heartst knowledge. . You would know in words that which you have always known in thought. You would touch with your firtgers the naked body of your dreams. And it is well you should. The hidden well-spring of your soul must needs rise and run murmurtug to the sea; Aud the treasure of your infinite depths would he revealed to your eyes. But let there he no scales to weigh your unknown treasure, And seek not the depths of your knowledge with stajf or sounding line. For self is a sea boundless and measureless. Say not, I have found the truth? but rather, I have found a truth? Say not, I have found the path of the soul? Say rather, I have met the soul walking upon my path? For the soul walks u 1101: all paths. The soul walks not upon a line, neither does it grow like a reed. The soul unfolds itself, like a lotus of countless petals. uKAHLIL GIBRAN. Introduction Dedication F aculty and Administration Students Clubs and Organizations: Fall Activities Winter Activites Spring Activities Advertisem ents As the class 0f171 nears the end of its high school years, we pause to show appreciation to one who has contributed his time and ef- fort to our class and shown special concern for college bound mathematics students. Mr. Dunn, who is the senior class coordinator, arranges homecomings and directs the se- nior Class play, and has served on the Madeira High School fac- ulty for 21 years. In recognition of all this, the class of 1971 has voted to dedicate this yearbook to Mr. James Dunn. DEDICATION WWW rrimmnm . 13 ...b..r.d;, . So many people have con- tributed to the making of this book: Much gratitude must be devoted to you, Mrs. Hicks-how you ever made it through the year with us, welll never know! Mr. Dizney deserves recognition for the many hours he spent helping us with all our problems-Mr. Diz- ney, a sincere thanks. We would also like to recog- nize many of our classmates who helped throughout the year. To Chuck Andrew, Janet Bayer, Nancy Horak, and Carol Sininger, a sincere thank you. But above all, we would like to thank the entire annual staff for their many hours of work. So thanks, staff- it was your efforts that made this book what it is!
