Cheerleaders Our Cheerleaders are a vivacious and enthusi- astic group of girls. Both Varsity and junior Varsity squads are made up of six members elected by the student body each spring. Besides their regular duties of leading Cheers at all games, the girls participate in many other spirit bolstering activities. The Cheer- leaders play a major part in planning successful pep rallies. At these pep rallies, the cheerleaders lead cheers, teach new ones, and often present highly original skits. When not cheering at games, practicing, or planning pep rallies, the girls, in co-operation with the Pep Club, can often be seen selling bus tickets to our away games, plastering the walls with posters, or coming up with other gim- micks to generate enthusiasm for our teams Everyone at M.H.S. will surely agree that our Cheerleaders do a great job when it comes to kindling school spirit.
