On January 24, a good-sized audience heard and enioyed the annual Music Festival. The sextette rendered SOME ENCHANTED EVENING, and the ooete sang SHOWBOAT MEDLEY. Under the coaching of Mr. Dunn, the boys sported a 6 and 3 record. With the return of only three lettermen, Mrk. Dunn had the difficult job ot recruiting a new and green squad from the ranlcs of the Junior High. Mr. Dunn's looys, although inexperienced, started out the season with three wins, toppling Newtown, Terrace Park, and Montgomery in succession. The next game put a crimp in the Mustangs' winning streak: Blue Ash edged Madeira, 37-32. The following two games found the Mustangs traveling to Loveland and Ander- son. The final tilt of the regular season was ploy- ed on the Madeiraites home court where they overwhelmed the Indian Hill indians. The Junior High opened their stand in the Eastern League Tournament against indian Hill and defeated them. The next game in the tourna- ment was with Blue Ash, who promptly handed the Mustangs their third and final defeat of the season. jac As the warm spring breezes again begin to warm the chilled winter air, a group ot pant- ing boys clad in sweat togs and spiked shoes jog around the cindered oval ot MHS. There to see that the boys keep up their pace is their mentor and triend, Mr. Hariley. Since track is o spring sport and the MNEMONIC must go to press very early in the spring, not much can be said about the abilities ol the young hopefuls seen in the picture below. Last year's graduation took many ot our mainstays from the team, but lettermen from last year's Junior High team will move up. They will be supplemented by the returning letter win- ners, Gene Melody, Bill Strohschein, and Paul Gripshover. As always, we anticipate the big event ot the year, the Hamilton County Meet. We will be out to unthrone our arch rival, Anderson High, who captured the coveted title last year. This is not the only big meet of the yeary our cindermen travel to both the Lockland Night Relays and the Mariemont Invitational. These meets teature the top track teams ot Southwestern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. With the rebuilding process taking place at present, the MHS boys may not score too highly in these meets, but they will gain valuable experience tor tuture years.
