amor Com 59 MOTTO Forward Ever Backward Never Class Flower Class Colors Whlte Mum Aqua and Whlte Sponsors M1ss Elsle Jones Hugh Dunn Mrs Lydla Roebuck Ward Harrmgton In the fall of '56 we 107 fear strlcken Freshmen made a grand entry 1nto the Stately Halls of Macon Hngh School as one of the largest classes to ever pass through lts sacred portals From the balcony we peered down at the Sen1ors 1n the north sect1on of the Audltornum w1th greatest awe and wondered lf we'd ever f1l1 those seats wxth such dlgmty and splendor Eager to reach that goal and des1rous to gam recognltxon we set forth our leaders John K1ng Presxdent J1mShearon V1ce Presldent Conn1eShearon Secretary and Danette Morrow Treasurer Durmg the Homecomlng FeSt1Vltl6S Danette Morrow was chosen by the Freshman football boys as Freshman Attendant to the Homecommg Queen Llnda Gr1ep rexgned as Freshman Class Queen Our class colors were aqua and sxlver As 1957 rolled around we returned to Macon Hlgh as Sophomores and wlth advanced knowledge and much more confidence we proudly elected Jerry Mlller Presldent Jerry McBeth Vlce Presl dent Betsy Means Secretary Margaret M1ller Treasurer Our class queen was Kay Groves and Margaret Mlller was Sophomore Hornecomlng Attendant Our float ' Down You Go decorated w1th our class colors charcoal pmk and wh1te won second pr1ze Completmg two years of hard work It was now tlme for us to advance to the upper ranks Thus ln 1958 we became the hlgh and mlghty Junlors full of pep and vltallty Stlll eager for more fame and achlevement we elected Tom Gxrando Presldent J1m Shearon V1ce Presldent Gary Glenn Secretary Flora Mae Bxnder Treasurer Danette Morrow was chosen Class Queen and Mary Vxrxght was our Homecommg Attendant We prlded ourselves upon the success 1n produc1ng the fxfth Annual All Nlght Prom honorlng the Seruors w1th the theme Falryland to Romance ' Wh1Ch we carrled out 1n full array R6jOlClI1g 1n our tr1umphs we closed our tlurd year And now 1t's 59 and we havetaken our place upon the throne as the tall and d1gn1f1ed Sen1ors 'l To make our last year a success we proudly and unammously chose Dale Dav1s Pres1dent Ron Marshall Vlce Presxdent Joanne Cheever Secretary and Anne Rame Treasurer to d1rect the affalrs of our class We esteemed the honor of Class Queen to Flora Mae Bmder Anne Rame rexgned as the 1959 Homecomxng Queen attended by Llnda Gr1ep and Danette Morrovs The O1p1 Staff presented the honor of O1p1 Queen to Kay Groves Our float entxtled Brookf1eld's In Dutch Wooden Shoe Know It ' won flrst place m the Homecomlng Parade The end of our hxgh school l1fe IS nearxng a close and soon we'1l pass from school l1fe mto 11fe's school May success relgn supreme as we strxve forward to ach1eve our goals ID llfe But when the cares of l1fe o'ertake us and we turn our rnemorxes back and recall those four years of gladness we can proudly say that our athletes were stars our scholars were unexcelled we established records for our school and our fame was w1dely known throughout Macon Hxgh School . f ll 9 9 s 1 , .
