The crowning of the Queen was the highlight of the dance, and bracelets were given to the Queen and each attendant. 7. A short narration on the purposes of Student Council was the highlight of the Student Council Installation. The members and officers were installed by Mr. Knapp. The inaugural address was given by the president, Leo Bentele. 8. In keeping with the Christmas spirit, the Council undertook Operation Snowman . The Council committee under the direction of ' Miss Rose Anne Wray, cut and painted a family of snowmen and placed them on the front lawn. The Council also once more sponsored the Christmas door decorations. 9 . To get the second semester off to a good start, the Council decided to have an All-School Dance with a Valentine's theme. Since some students hesitate about dancing, it was decided to have a movie and a tea room in order that everyone will have an enjoyable evening. 10. The administration gave the Council the problem of poor conduct at games. Monitors were appointed to regulate traffic in the halls . 11. This year for the first time, the Student Council sponsored The World Clothing Drive. This drive is sponsored in order to gather clothes for distribution in foreign lands. 12. The Missouri Association of Student Councils Convention was held on the William Iewell Campus, March 15, 16, 1957. Three delegates were elected to attend from Macon along with our sponsor.
