: a af Ta] ; 1] Wich’ Aine VOL. Vill want wn ffl iu! wu Hullull Hye wih lin tid ula Reading between the lines means to look be- neath the surface for more. On the surface MCH is a nice brick building that houses 9-l2 grades and their faculty for nine months each year. A student's life is more than a building, a teach- er, or a textbook. Your yearbook staff hopes this year to show the varied areas of a Bull- dog's life through pictures. Homework is any learning experience done before, after, and sometimes even during school. Flip through our “Notebook” and learn more about the Bulldogs in 1986-87. ili (ul (ul il) A schedule is a time table or a list of deadlines. Each student receives his her schedule from the counselor’s office the first day of school. From then on, a hectic pace reigns. Seniors know exactly when they may leave five minutes early for lunch, and teachers circle the calendar day that grade sheets must be posted. A Bulldog’s schedule will include class- es in required and elective courses best suited to his needs, but he also invests time and energy in sports, clubs, and jobs. Also, time for social life will be reserved for those lasting friendships. The mighty Bulldog runs a fast race. Catch the Wave of Spirit Oh, Why didn't I study? a In i utili = (( my os me 7 nnn (' i ) Run the program — not ul | your mouth (il) Raise your hands, you're sure I've never seen a bug yet | liked Assignments are tasks — good, bad, hard, easy. Some we do because we must — tests, book reports, and practice. Others are done with great pride through accomplishment.—.anxiety because of insecurities — love through sharing. Bulldogs success rates are high in assignment. We-can stick! In sports we are building teams, in skills we are gaining ground, and in Basic Skills Testing we areimproving. Bulldogs meet the challenge. MCH is composed of many talents. Girls’ Basketball team lifts lb. weights to improve strength, Drama Class learns to Charleston, and FBLA plays Santa. At times this year, students and faculty were overwhelmed by the changes awaiting them in QBE. Through it all, we grew. Success is built with coursework as the basic ingredient for careers; teachers stirred into the mix for flavor; and sports and clubs added as frosting. No wonder our Bulldog is No. lI. Outrageousness! Where's my new gym floor? Appointments mean planning, remembering, and meeting obligations for teachers, coaches, parents and oneself. Just ask a Bulldog about building character and accepting responsibilities. Discipline is a daily task in our lives; either enforced independently or learned through encouragement at the office door. A Bulldog takes pride in his memories of high school days and will cherish this time to measure values ‘and build goals for tomorrow. Every minute counts when you're at MCHS. Keep step with your memories at MCHS. A homecoming in color! Fancy cars, pretty corsages, and tears of joy all went into making Homecoming '86_ special. Each member of the court was escort- ed by family members or close friends and their entrance to the football field was provided. by the bright red convertibles of the Shriners. Every aspect of the evening went well, except the score, but the Bulldogs never gave up. In fact, some Dawgs danced till 1:00 a.m. wlll O Tay Den Bulldogs are special. To our credit, we have a fine school, faculty, and the best student body in Georgia. We are achievers. The best, less together at_MCHS! Bulldogs want Youl KRISTINA SIMMS She's the right arm of the Principal. She’s the lending hand for the Faculty. She’s the shoulder of support to the Parent. She’s the listening ear for a Student. Some’ will go on to further edu- cation, some to service, some to jobs in the com- munity. We wish them success, prosperity, and above all, happiness in their chosen endeavors. These souvenirs are treasures rare A pritely gay hello, A special look of fond respect That only friends can know. A cheerful smile, a heartfelt tear, A spirit bright and gay, A simple chat, a quiet walk, A wave across the way. A mastery of many sub- jects from Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics to Literature and History to Sports and T V trivia is neces- sary for teams to score well against each other. Some members start work as Freshmen, helping with score- keeping and timekeeping and then working their way up to competing members of the team. This year’s team is composed of: Freshmen: Chris Locker- man and Aaron Perry, Sophomores: Keith Everett, Ricky Kleckley, Travis Law, and Scott Lewis, Juniors: Lisa Fulks, Tod Hand- ley, Paul Joiner, Angela Kitch- ens, Jim Parks, Darrell Peters and Gretchen Trussell, Seniors: Deborah Ham. The Academic Bowl, spon- sored by Mrs. Oliver, will com- pete in January at Taylor County High School and in the spring at Georgia Southwest- ern College. They have worked hard at improving their skills and towards the end of the season they felt they had built a strong team unity. Good coaching, smooth techniques, and strong team spirit ... that’s what its all about. The 1986-87 Cheerleaders are Great! They attended camp at Ga. South- western College during the summer where they won a Superior rating as well as the Spirit Stick. Although the cheering squad had many hours of practice throughout the year, the work was never hard, because of their pride in the Mighty Bulldogs. The sponsor, Mrs. Whitfield, was a source of comfort and confidence for each member of the team, as she worked throughout the football and basketball seasons. The girls will always remember spir- it tags, McDonald burgers, long bus rides, and good fellowship. Many members of the school staff put in long hours af- ter school, on Thursday eve- nings, on Saturdays, and at their homes. One thing is certain - the '86-’87 BULLDOG would not have been published without the help, advice, and patience of the following people: Mrs. Jo Camp- bell, our sponsor; Mrs. Carole Barfield, our staff bookkeeper; Mr. Carl Peaster, our principal; and Mr. Dave Ziegler, our region- al advisor; and, of course, the staff members.
