50 YEARS OF COACHING @ Jimmy Maffett and Carl Peaster represent the very best in coaching for many years in Macon County. These men retired from their coaching positions at the end of the 1984-85 season, and have left highlights in football and basketball history for our school. Coach Maffett received Coach of the Year in Middle Georgia, Region Coach three times, three Distinguished Coaching Awards, and three Congressional Certificates of Merit. Coach Peaster was Coach of the Year six times, an All Star Coach, and won over 80% of games coached Both men claim dedication and discipline as the only course to becoming a winner. Standards set by their athletic programs over the years have given many young men and women the opportunity to grow and meet new challenges, not only on the court, but from within. These fine men have felt their daily example to the student was as important as their coaching strategies. Respect for the individual, as well as a firm belief in building team work, have lead to many winning seasons for the Bulldogs and past players. THANKS, COACH, WE LOVE YOU.
