The winning play, staged by the MCHS Drama Club was entitled ‘‘The Ugly Duckling’’. Players, in order of appearance on stage were Vic Burchfield, Eddie Thom- as, Jennifer Mcllrath, Laurie Robinson, Donna Stevens, David Sanders, and William Hill. Other members of the backstage crew who contri- buted to the first place victory were: Jerry Price, Kathy Kelley, Donna Wel-. lons, Karen Steele, Wanda Deakins, Terri Wright, Sandy Horn, Diane Joiner, Bobby Kitchens, Billy Hort- man and Donna Rodgers. Members of the MCHS debate team, Jamie Carroll, Kathy Hortman, Kris Coo- gle, Buddy Peaster, and Brandon Curlee, emerged victorious after two rounds of debate which involved eight other teams from Region 1-B. Attends Nutrition Conference Macon County High Fu- ture Homemakers of Ameri- ca attended the Food and Nutrition Conference held at Columbus College in Colum- bus, Georgia on November 4, 1976. Those who attended the Nutrition. Conference were: LaVerne Tookes, Virginia Hayes, Karen Steele, Jennifer Mcllrath, Donna Tyson, Wanaa Tyson, and Chris McComb. They were accompanied by their advisors, Mrs. Gloria Thorn and Miss Audrey Dorsey. The theme for the Nutrition conference was Feeding The Teen Machine. G Dy Macon County High Student Council Off To Good Start High Schoul Student Council has gotten off to a very good start this year. Miss Wylene Webb is the Macon County Sponsor and Mrs. Mary Anne Jones is the Co-Spon- sor. The President of the Student Council is Vic Burchfield, Vice-President - Rosa English; Secretary - Glennice Walker. The election for 1976-77 representatives was held September 21, 1976. Four representatives were chosen from each grade by the student body. This year’s representatives are: Seniors - Vivian Smith, Mary Nelson, Wanda Deakins, and David Sanders; Juniors - James Brown, Donna Rodgers, Linda James, and Donna Stevens; Sophomores Ginger Peaster, Jackie Har- vey, Carla Meadows, and Robbie Ray; Freshman - Karen Miller, Keith Martin, Nicky Hortman, and Barbara Washington. The Student Council will hold the class officer election on October 7, 1976. There will be a president, vice- president, secretary and treasurer elected from each grade. The Student Council is responsible for all election concerning the student body. The homecoming court representatives are elected from each grade. The Student Council is responsi- ble for getting the results of the election. The Student Council is looking forward to and working toward success this school term.
