aluting Mae-Men The Craftsman for 1959 is dedicated to the many graduates of Irving E. Macomber Vocational I-ligh School. Macomber has always felt a need for maintaining contact with its graduates because of the service they might be to the school. On December 2, 1958, Nlacomber held a ban- quet to salute the Mac-Men XVho Serve Business and Industry and were graduated during the thirty years the vocational program has been in existence in Toledo. The last twenty years of this time refers to the students who have been graduated from Ma- comber. Seventy graduates attended the dinner and they represented all the vocations in which Macomberoffers training. In most instances, they hold managerial positions in their fields. Among those attending were Avery Schlagheck and NVi1liam Sanderson, who were members of the first class, june, 1928, and Ralph Tappen of the first gradu- ating class from Nfacomber, -Iune, 1939. The purpose of this salute was to form a Macomber Alumni so these men could be called on to serve their alma mater in: 1. Promoting the school by publicizing Macomber's program and in- teresting parents to have their sons elect our school. 2. Serving as speakers in orientation programs to inform students about the opportunities and requirements in various occupational fields in making a selection of a vocation. 3. Serving as counselors to juniors and seniors regarding the educational requirements to meet the needs of the job. .f W fi p Q Mr. Philo C. Dunsmore Mr. Harry KI.
