v . i lwaillnl m- - M , -P , Beginning the season with eight returning letterf men and an ahundance of reserve material, Coach Nlurphy fashioned a team which showed its valor in every game. Although not enjoying an ideal season, the team represented a decided improvement over those of very recent seasons. After heating three of their nonfeonference rivals they continued through the season, fighting each game to the finish and makf ing up in determination what they lacked in scoring power. Although the hoys lost many close games their opponents always found it a more than difficult task to cross our goal line. Those awarded letters were: Newell Sapp, W'ilf son Huston, Charles Bartlett, Ivan Cooper, Vxfoodf row Cheesman, Laverne Duncan, Donald O'Harra, Howard Dunhar, Louis Doran, john Moon, john Helms, Leonard Sowers, Laverne Nichols, and Tom Brown. The lettermen elected, as honorary cofcaptains for the season, Newell Sapp and Laverne Duncan. FOOTBALL Macomh Rushville L........,,.... Soon after this, graduation increased thc gap in the previously triumphant lineup and the reserves were called upon to present equally line players to fill their places. This revamped team, with few exceptions, played the remainder of the season and fully justified their VM JW- hurried choice by constant and sincere cooperation to build themselves into a winning team. Their efforts were not unrewarded, for the team won I2 out ot 26 games in addition to the County tournament trophy and fourth place in the district tournament Letters were awarded to: Howard Dunbar, Ed' ward Allison, George Crcascy, Leonard Sowers, jean Fry, Tom Brown, john Helms, Louis Doran, jay Curless, and Max Miller.
