L. R. NATIONS, Pruident A. R. HILL, Treasurer ROBERT L IACKSON, Vice Pnl. CLOYD CREACH, Member JUNIOR KILSO, Secretary EVERETI' GOLSTON, Member ! 2 MGCLS Creek public School IQ-5 DON S. EDWARDS, Suporlnhudoni Macks Creek, Miswuri To the Graduating Class of 1956: There comes a time in the lives of all students when that carefreeness that goes with being a student must come to an end and the graduating student must take on the more serious problems and responsibilities of meeting life's problems. I am indeed glad to have had you as students and to have had a part in influencing your lives. I know that my association with you during this year will have had some influence upon you. I certainly have endeavored to make that influence count for the best. Education does not mean only teaching people what they do not know, but it also means teaching them to behave as they do not behave. I know that character, integrity, loyalty, honesty, and the other good virtues, can not be effectively taught. They MUST BE CAUGHT. The teacher must set the example. The teacher can by kindness, by praise, by warnings, by watching, and by preceptg help the student find his proper place in life. I want you to feel that my interest in you goes on through your problems and misunderstandings that you meet in life. Please feel free to always come to me for help in the solution of life's many problems. In behalf of the entire student body, I wish to express our thanks to you seniors who have worked so long and hard in producing this year's edition of nThe Hourglass.n You have done a splendid job in preserving for us the joys and memories of this year's school activities, personal- ities, and academic life, at Macks Creek High School. The best of luck to you always, Jam Q Don S. Edwards, Supt.
