SENIOR ASS HI TORY In 1954 we enrolled as Freshmen in Mackay High School There were thirty six of us We are the first class that has completed four years in the new building fwe came to conquer but remained to be subdued at least in part J The highlight of our freshman year was our dance the theme Wagon wheels The sagebrush used in our decorations had a bad effect on allergy sufferers Mr Swanson was our advisor During our sophomore year activities included participation in athletics music and student body affairs We wondered how the freshman class of 1955 could possibly be so small and insignificant We sponsored a dance with the theme of Pennies From Heaven QA prediction of how money mad we would be as seniors in 1958 J Mrs Asay was our advisor As Juniors we were very active We had a representative number of students on the honor roll attendance was excellent M ny boys made the football basketball and track squads. The girls were active in band chorus and pep club. We sponsored the Homecoming Dance In the spring we had a very successful Junior Prom the theme of which was Over t Rainbow. Mrs. Kahler was our advisor. Thirty-six freshmen have dwindled to twenty-six seniors. Donna Blakely joined us in her sophomore year and Ken Bailey transferred as a senior We can still claim an outstanding record of achievement in student activities - athletics music and extracurricula affairs. As we leave Mackay High School we are confident that the future is more important than the past. We shall recall many happy times and asso- ciations at M. H S.
