Dedications to Our Foster Child, Zenaida Bautista, from Manila in the Philippines Zenaida Bautista was 6 years old on March 9, 1973. Zeny is a very playful little girl. She loves playing writh the neighbourhood children. Her favourite games are playing house, stores, and school. Zeny gets along well with her peers. She is still very inhibited when in the company of adults. She is bashful. Hopefully, she will overcome this. Zeny ' s eldest brother, Mario, is 20 years old. He was unable to finish the 5th grade and has difficulty in finding a good job. He works with his father as a fisherman and together they earn $2. 00 a week. Mrs. Bautista is a housewife. Zeny has 7 other brothers and sisters between the ages of 17 and 2. All of the children are in good health. The family lives in a rural area that is an hour and a half drive from Manila. The house is made of palm leaves, bamboo, lumber, and galvanized iron sheets. It is rented at $3. 35 a month. Life has been difficult for the Bautista ' s. With the family ' s meager income, basic needs could hardly be met. Moreover, the children could not avail themselves of a good education. With Foster Parents ' Plans help life can be a bit changed now. Basic needs are amply met and next year it is hoped that all of the school aged children will be in school. Then the potentials of every family member shall be explored and de- veloped so that everyone can eventually be a contributor towards progress.
