foooooocff-ofoooffoooooooof-:foofooooof THE NIARGARETTA ooooocwoooooooooooooooooo Joocwcwoo-:wooo-Josef h1m untll lt drevn abreast of the huge boulder where the armed flend lay ln Walt Two shots rang out and the man on the sled llfted hlS arms above h1s head lost h1s foothold on the sled fell to the ground and toppled over the br1nk of the large yawnlng cravasse Down down down went the burden It struck many hundred feet below wlth a slckenlng thud The dogs reallzmg that the master had left the sled sped away yelp1ng to ward thelr kennels Just as the anlmals dlsappeared the dlrector stepped from behxnd an art1 f1c1al snow bank and asked the property men to remove the snow scene That dummy went over the br1nk Just 11 t1me he laughed Back to the studlo everybody K L G '50 THE FORGETFUL BOY BOUT eleven oclock ln the even1ng JOh11fl16 a boy of f1fteen was awakened by somethlng he knew not what' He thought 1t sounded l1ke the openmg of a w1ndow but he was not pos1t1ve He lay for a few mmutes l1sten1ng and sh1ver1ng from head to foot darlng not to move lest some ugly fxgure from the dark might grasp h1m by the throat As he lay there trymg to thxnk what mlght have awakened h1m he was startled by the banglng of a door then L17 a loud whlstle whlch made h1m nearly shake the qullts to the floor and yell wrth terror A scream rent the darkness Johnnle remembermg the praise he had once rece1ved for belng brave sprung from h1s bed and clutchlng the bedpost w1th one hand he groped for the llght wlth the other Then he sought the lrttle re volver that he had concealed under the mattress of h1s bed for just such purposes Stealthlly he crept down the long stalrcase Oh let go my throat you brute help' help' came a female volce Now Johnme was standing erect at the bottom of the stalrs for the voice sound ed exactly llke that of h1s elghteen year old slster Elsle She was 1n trouble' He would have to use all hls strength to protect her Tell me where them sparklers 1s and I wont harm you came a gruff voice This certalnly was a burglar and he was trylng to make Elsle tell where she had put the diamond necklace Wh1Ch she had recelved that day as a blrthday present Over there over there came a waverlng female volce She had told the burglar where she had put the glft Now was the tlme for a t1on Johnnle bolted madly through the dlmng room door but what drlfted upon hls ears9 Th1s lS statlon WEEI broadcastlng - ,,,,,,. -. .- ,.,, -,.,, , ,,,, - ,,,, - ,,., . . . .v. , . . . . 54 W3 - . .- - - - . - T V-, , 1 , 1' I Y , , , .
