Psychologists Charles C. Torrey and Raymond C. Johnson hold a lunchetime con- ference on their latest case. Dr. Gerlad Weiss stands amidst the subiects of his latest endeavor. Psychology And Sociology Expand Professor Jack E. Rossman and James A. McMartin attempt to saturate the sub- conscious. ' Expansion and innovation is evident in the Sociology Department with the introduction of Dr. David McCurdy as Macs first cultural anthropology professor and with the acquisition of one additional professorship to be filled next year. Dr. Paul M. Berry, department head, is spending second semester at Virginia Union University in connection with Macls exchange professor program with Negro colleges. Dr. lteece McGee is conducting a research project financed hy the Hill Family Foundation. His Career Deci- sion Project is a study of Midwest college faculty members. The past year has been one of growth and change for the psychology department. The department combined the two introductory courses into one course and did the same for the methodology classes. A new honors system was also developed. Charles Torrey was added to the staff, and Iames A. Mc-Blartin was a visiting professor during the first semester. Dr. Kenneth P. Goodrich received a research grant to study Reinforcement Contrast, and also published an article in Psychology and Monographs. Professor Wleiss is doing re- search on animal learning. 27
