President Rice Handles Macalester's Executive Duties President of the College Harvey M. Rice Meeting with the Trustees is on important port of the President's iob. Leading Macalester as it builds for its future, President of the College Harvey M. Rice has numerous executive duties and capacities. He manages the over-all operation of the edu- cational, financial, and business areas of the College - work- ing with Trustees, faculty, students, staff, and the public. President Rice helps to develop the policies of the Board of Trustees through his position as a member of the Board and as spokesman for the students, faculty, and administrative ofhcials. The heads of each of the College's various branches make possible the Collegeis orderly operation by carrying out the responsibilities delegated to them by Dr. Rice. Frequent briefing and planning sessions are essential to the President's function as coordinator, liaison, and decision maker. Dr. and Mrs. Rice are avid supporters of Mac's athletic teams, and they attend most of the campus activities. They invite Freshmen to their home for a Frosh Week reception, and Seniors are the Rices, guests prior to graduation. -' . 'FS' WW. ww' -f K V T ti.. .
