Edward D. Gates Development Council In 1956 the Board of Trustees created a Development Council to coordinate the public relations and fund-raising operations of the college. Members of the Council are volunteers appointed by the President. From its begin- ning the Council has sought to upgrade faculty salariesg improve buildings, equipment, and campus appearanceg and make the college the center of an outstanding fac- Richard L. Desmond Q? ulty and student body. Already there are evidences of the Councilis work as we see the new wing of Weyer- haeuser Library being built this year. However, they say the best is yet to come, and soon we will see other im- provements.
