The main object of the Hu- manities program is to intro- duce the student to the great masterpieces of world litera- ture and to provide him with a comprehensive view of the breadth and depth of our liter- ary heritage. The courses are organized to illustrate world cultures and movements, so that the epoch-making works selected for careful study may be understood in context.
