I feel that the freshman experience and the upperclass living groups are positive changes, and they have much to offer if only you will take advantage of them. The main thrust of both experiences is to help the students direct themselves in a living-learning experience toward a self -satisfying education. For all of us, Students, faculty, administration, and staff, we can make better progress with an attitude of less confrontation and more cooperation. I am optimistic about MacMurrays future; I wouldn ' t want to feel any other w ay. At the beginning, (or even before the school year of 1975-76), I was wondering how the dorm changes would affect the attitudes of the men students. Realizing how soon students com{5 rehend just what is happening, I wondered what their reactions would be. But as is generally the case, most of them accepted gratefully, usually with a smile and with the acknowledgement that the administration was making the changes with the hopes that it would be for the benefit of the students. It has been my observation, during the seven years I ' ve been at MacMurray, that the students are great — willing to cooperate in about any way they can. ,
