Photography Club This year, because of lhe large enrollmenl, 'rhe Pholography Club was limiled lo Juniors and Seniors. The members were Belly Ann Bibber, president Ann l-lanifin, Jrreasurerz Wendy Bourquin, Nancy Brodeur, Lois Dickerman, Joan Goelze, Mary Irwin, Sue Judd, Anne Luclce, Rulh McCarlhy, Eleanor Morrison, Cynlhia Porler, Elizabelh Pulnam, Barbara Quigley, Gwen Saunders, Cynlhia Smilh, and Be++y Thomas. Under The able leadership of Miss Lillie, our facully advisor, Shullerbug members discussed, al +he meelings which were held once a monlh, 'rhe fechnical poin+s of cameras and piclure-lakingi camera laulls, 'the composilion of a good pholograph: and learned 'lo fake indoor por'rrail's and piclures of s+ill life. ln February, 'rhe Shullerbugs sponsored a Phofography Con+es'r, open +o fhe enlire school. The winner was Nan Chisholm. Each year +he in'reres+ of 'rhe school in pholography grows grealer. Pholography is a grand hobby, and valuable for lasling memories. BETTY ANN BIBBER '48 Poetry Club The Poefry Club was revived +his year and has become one of +he nicesl' exfra-curricular acfivifies. Judy l-lill was elecled presidenl, and fhe olher members Took lurns being chairman of 'rhe meelings. Miss LiH'le was our advisor. A+ The meelings held 'rhe firsl' Sunday of each monlh, various poels and lypes of poelry were discussed, wi+h each member bringing a+ leasl one poem +o share wilh 'rhe res+. One of The mosl memorable meelings was held a+ Nancy Lawrence's house, where Mrs. Lawrence gave us a wonderful affernoon. Girl Scouts Sealed, lofi' fo righf-Redden, Arnold, BenneH', Leffis, Rifchie, Hanbury. Sfanding-Chisholm, Good. Under lhe helpful guidance ol our 'rroop leaders, Miss Vivian Lilile and Miss Jane Coulure, we have spenl a very inleresiing year. During ihe fall we had many long walks in lhe woods, learing Things for our Tree Finder Badge. We made a colleclion of leaves and learned lhe name of each kind. Laler, we carved animals oui of wood. Working for our Pholography Badge has been 'lhe mosl inieresling of all. We learned develop- ing, prinling, and enlarging of piclures. Piclures were broughf in for crilicism, and we learned much from fhe experience of oihers. During lhe week of March IOlh, we collecied money for lhe JulieHe Lowe Fund. The Julielle Lowe Fund is crealed by 'rhe conlribulions from lhe dillereni Scoul organizaiions all over The Uniied Slales. lls purpose is 'ro creaie a beller underslanding ol scouling all over 'rhe world. Music Club The Music Club was s+ar+ed fhis year wi+h a greal deal of help from our advisor, Miss Snyder. Our presidenl' is Carol Comslock and secre+ary. Belly Ann Bibber. Our group consisls of sixleen members: Gwen Saunders, Alice Marshall, Roseda Clark, Wendy Bourquin, Bersy Taber, Jeane++e Pefers, Barbara Lundquisl, Pal I-lelwick, Midge Schwarz, Joan McGarigle. Jane Ellis, and Pai Seymour. The club was founded 'ro help us become be'r+er acquainled wilh The lives of rhe composers, bofh classical and modern. ln order lo aHain +his goal, we have had mon+hly meefings in which we have discussed 'fheir lives and played Jrheir works. We have also performed for lhe school. ln lhe iulure, we hope lo conlinue our sludy and see a few concerls.
