IT is composed oi every member of The sTudenT body, alThough some ol The acTiviTies are limiTed To girls oT The upper grades. LasT Tall, a new TradiTion was esTablished, ThaT of Vagabond day. This was a surprise day in The counTry: and if as much Tun is had in The iuTure as was had This year, l'm cerTain ThaT iT will be a lasTing TradiTion. Due To The weaTher This pasT winTer, The OuTing Club was noT able To do all ThaT iT would have liked. However, They made up The losT Time This spring wiTh day and over-nighT bicycle Trips. mounTain climbs, and hikes in The counTry. We hope ThaT nexT year's OuTing Club members will have as much Tun as we have had. RUE FORSLAND '47 Debating Club This year, Tor The TirsT Time, a DebaTing Club was formed. This club has been under The leader- ship oi iTs presidenT, Mary Irwin: and has had The invaluable aid of iTs TaculTy advisor, Miss CouTure. The original forum is composed of nine members, alThough oTher sTudenTs have aTTended The debaTes. The obiecT of The club is noT only To learn new TacTs and ideas, buT To acquire The arT oi expressing one's ThoughTs upon a subiecT based on research. Each girl Takes The sides she is leasT inTer- esTed in, so she will undersTand boTh sides clearly. Members of The club are: PaT l-lelwiclc, Carol ComsToclc,. The Glee Club 'rhis year has done an excellenl iob on all i+ has under+aken. Allhough only con- sisling oi eighieen members, 'rhose girls, under 'rhe leadership of Judy Hill, president Gwen Saunders, librarian, and Jane Ellis as assis'ran+ librarian, have done a remarkable piece of work and l'he club really accomplished a good deal. In addilion +o 'rhe Jrradiiional carol singing afier Eager Heari, ihe club sang a+ lhe Wesfover Field Hospiial before Chrislmas. Besides rhe 'rwo commencemenr songs, a number of ofher songs were srudied in preparalion for a spring concerf. Mrs. Paul Samson was again our direclor, and 'ro her we owe all +ha+ we accomplished. The girls from lasr year are: Helen Alexander, Nancy Brodeur, Judy Hill, Joan McGarigle, Barbara Jane Quigley, Gwen Saunders, Pai Seymour, and BeH'y Thomas. Those who are new This year are: Belly Ann Bibber, Roseda Clark, Jane Ellis, Eden Eorl, Joan Hanna, Pal Helwick, Lynne Hunlinglon, Barbara Lundquisi, Alice Marshall, and Saralan Smiih.
