H V. Kcrrimft, THE CREST All hail, ALMA MATER. MacArthur honor thee with glory and with loyalty. Long may this song sound free. Through faith and through labor our heritage grows strong. The Red and White will send forth its light throughout the ages long. The echoes through the years will ringg Memories linger and hearts will sing. MacArthur, MacArthur, our cardinal pride endure. MacArthur, MacArthur High, our fate will be secure. I 965 MacArthur High School Irving, Texas T The monstrous framework ofthe MacArthur levard, represents the contemporary constru will seat 1, 224 people. l The printing and woodworking shops as well as the mechanical and engineering drafting class- rooms will be housed in the modern wing of Phase 3. The Beginning MacArthur High School first opened its doors on September 3, 1963, with an enrollment of 724 students. The school, designed by Wright, Rich and Associates, is one of the most out- standing and modern in this area. When completed, sometime before September, 1965, it will cost approximately 354,000,000 and will accommodate 2,800 students. MacArthur High School will have 84 classrooms including these specialized departments: home economics, industrial arts, music, speech and drama, art, and language labs. f ,f.' 1 , , Each day this year over 1,500 students passed through the Cardinal Doors. 13 xr wg' l l It is only fitting that the first edition of the should be dedicated to a person who is foremost in all activities surrpunding MacArthur. At pep rallies, his enthusiastic spirit is con- tagious to all attending: to the faculty, organizations, and student activities, his advice, wisdom, and leadership are invaluableg to the student body, he is first a friend and then a principal. Therefore, we, the members of the yearbook staff, proudly dedicate this Crest to our principal, Mr. Arthur Casey. 'L Friendly, physically strong, and morally constant: Joe Trap- nell is remembered by the students and faculty of MacArthur High School as a good citizen possessing an abiding sense of humor, an alert student loved by his fellow classmates, and a dedicated athlete with an unyielding school spirit.
