90 CHURCH STREET, ROOM 1303 NEW YORK L NEW YORK 21 June 1957 Dear Principal Musick: I am enclosing J copy of my letter to Superintendent Grant which conveys my thanks and deep appreciation of the honor and distinction of having your school bear my name. It is a real sorrow to me not to participate in its inauguration, I note your suggestion as to colors and song. The colors of my General Headquarters during World War II were purple and gold which became well known throughout the Pacific and Far East areas. But I am free to admit my loss in recommending a school song, Those with which I have always been associated are of West Point and the military which would hardly be appropriate. Please express to all concerned my fervent wish for future success and my prayer that a Merciful God will speed you in your noble endeavors.
