-3266665011 ln appreciation of the splendid work of our teachers I we, the graduates of l95O, wish to dedicate this edition of the TORCH to all members of the faculty. We could hardly have learned the many fine skills of our trades, nor could we have had a thorough academic education, had it not been for these thoughtful people who chose teaching as their career. They shall stand out in our memories for many years to come, and it is our sincere wish that they will continue to serve our children iust as graciously as they have served us. .ihdorg 0 ur .Senior C aaa By MARIAN COGLIANO, June '50 Entering M.D.B. as a soph lin the main buildingl was something! You could hear the seniors yelling, You'll be sorry! You get on the elevator. Down, please. Sorry, you'll have to walk. What a school! Excuse me, could you tell me what time school ends? Sure, two o'clock. Three-forty-five is here and so are you. That's what you get when you're a sophomore! Before you know it your junior year has arrived, and this is what you hear: I have Cos. this term. I have Tex. What for? Who cares what the material is made of, as long as you can sew on it? Well, who cares about the name of the bone you're placing the pin curl on? Our senior year is here, the best year of high school: planning to take pictures, preparing for our senior show, making donations for the senior bazaar. lt really feels great to wear a blue smock. Then before graduation everyone is planning for the prom. Pink gowns, blue ones, strapless-everyone tries for something different. When the day finally arrives everyone is so excited, and before you can count to ten it is a week before graduation. One by one each student receives a diploma and sets out to try her luck at her trade, and to meet what life has in store for her. Good luck to all! A 3
