Mr. Kit-hard Castaldo We, the class of 1982, would like to dedicate our edition of Reflections to our class advisor, Mr. Castaldo. Over our four years here at Sheehan he has steered our class through the good and the bad. Mr. Castaldo certainly helped us. the seniors of 1982, leave our mark on Sheehan. We will be remembered for more than the tenth graduating class, we will be remembered for our spirit. Thanks, Mr. Castaldo. TIME Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day. You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way. Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town. Waiting for someone or something to show you the way. Tired of lying in the sunshine, stay home to watch the rain. You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today. And then one day you find ten years have got behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun. And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking. And racing around to come up behind you again. And shorter of breath and one day closer to death. Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time. Plans that either come to naughter or half page of scribbled lines. Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way. The time is gone, the song is over, thought I’d something more to say. 7 And then one day you Find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun. And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it’s sinking. And racing around to come up behind you again. 16 SHORT PEOPLE Short people got no reason — Short people got no reason — Short people got no reason to live. They got little hands, little eyes. They walk around telling great big lies. They got little noses and tiny little teeth They wear platform shoes on their nasty little feet. Well I don’t want no short people Don't want no short people Don't want no short people 'round here. Short people are just the same as you and I Fool such as I All men are brothers until the day they die It's a wonderful world! Short people got nobody Short people got nobody Short people got nobody to love. They got little baby legs that stand so low Ya gotta pick them up to say hello They got little cars that go beep, beep, beep They got little voices that go peep, peep, peep They got grubby little fingers and dirty little minds They're gonna get ya every time. Well I don't want no short people Don't want no short people Don't want no short people 'round here, Randy Newman 1977 Warner Bros. Record Inc. 17 Mrs. Naylor, Mr. Roberts, Mrs. Hook. Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow. Don't stop, it'll soon be here. It'll be, better than before. Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone. Why not think about times to come. And not about the things that you've done. If your life was bad to you. Just think what tomorrow will do. Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow. Don't stop, it'll soon be here. It'll be, better than before. Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone. All I want is to see you smile. If it takes just a little while, I know you don't believe that it's true, I never meant any harm to you. Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow. Don't stop, it'll soon be here. It'll be. better than before. Yesterday's gone, yesterday’s gone. Don't you look back. Don't you look back. Fleetwood Mac 29 l-ronl row, left to right: Glenn Packard. The Titans entered the contest with a 5-4 record. They came out after the Thanksgiving contest with an even 5-5 record. The Sheehan Student Council v as once again in charge of all Homecoming activities at our school. The Homecom- ing season waa the beginning of the Annual Canned Food Drive. The collection of cans continued until Christmas break. Tuesday waa a 'double-shot’ day during spirit week. It waa concert T-shirt day along with the traditional Student- Faculty Volleyball Came. This year the Sophomore Class was a dominate force defeating the Junior class for the right to take on the Faculty. The Faculty were downed by the class of 84. Wednesday was the BIG DAT.” It began with the stu- dent council selling carnations during the school day. The flowers were a big part of the school color day celebration. The afternoon festivities were capped with the Pep Rally held in the gym. Along with the annual happenings at the rally, was the judging of the best posters and the most spirited group. The award of the moat spirit went to the Senior class. The lightening rod went to the Junior class, who displayed a wide variety of posters in support of the coach and the team. The Royal Court from Sheehan included freshman prince and princess Mark Bencivengo and Cami MacLean. The soph delegation of royalty included Andy Reynolds and Jenni Cannon. The juniors were Anns Hucul and Kevin Murray. Queen of Sheehan court was Michele Coc- co. Her King was player Alan Stokes. After the pep rally, the 10th annual Powder Puff Flag Football game was held at the Trojans field. The Sheehan squad was coached by Mr. Neubauer. Mr. Schlotman, Mr. Fusco, Mrs. Hook and Mr. Decker. The five directed a group of girls numbering around 50. The Titan girls were facing a squad of about 90 from our hosts. The game was a disappointment for the Sheehan sup- porters. Our Senior girls were downed by a tough Lyman Hall squad, 14-0 on a very cold day. The only serious threat by Sheehan offense came late in the fourth when they got the ball on the nine yard line. They were kept at the nine by the Trojans defense. The morning after was Turkey Day. The Wallingford Post called the game “the most even match-up in the history of the battle of the Carini Bowl.” The Lyman Hall first touchdown was a result of a fum- ble lost by the Titans on the 23. Lyman Hall's Bob Hughes grabbed a Stu Smith pass for 12 yards and a Gawlack rush brought the ball down to the seven. With 9:02 to go in the second quarter it was 6-0 Lyman Hall as the extra point paw to Hughes was unsuccessful. Fifteen seconds was all it took for Sheehan to retaliate as captain Alan Stokes took the kickoff and raced 83 years for a score. He ran up the middle of the field until he reached the SO, at which point he veered toward the Lyman Hall sideline and reaced untouched to the endxone. Sheehan's Mike O'Sullivan converted the extra point. Sheehan took a 7-6 lead into the locker room at halftime, but that lead evaporated six minutes into the third quarter. The winning score was once again set up by a Sheehan fumble. Working off short runs by Smith and Bill Bridgett, the Trojans worked the ball down to the Sheehan one. Again it was Gawlack who got the call and he responded with second TD. Stokes blocked the extra point pass intend- ed for Gregg Teft and the score stood at 1 2-7, in favor of Lyman Hall, which waa the way the game ended. Receiving the award for the most outstanding offerwive player was Sheehan's Stokes and Lyman Hall's Gawlack. Borelli commented on Stokes: “His 83-yard run put us back in the game. He is always capable of doing something like that once he gets his hands on the hall.” Capturing the honors for the best defensive player were B. J. Allen of Sheehan and Justin Toomey of Lyman Hall. Borelli said. “This caps an outstandirqc year for B. J. To- day he proved he was a great football player.” Both teams ended the season as 5-5. Sheehan was game better in the Housey. however. The Titans were 5-4 and the Trojans 4-5. 142 Standing: Mark Bencivengo, Freshman Prince; Paul Reynolds, Sophomore Prince: Kevin Murray, Junior Prince; Alan Stokes, Senior King. They all know where they’re going but no-one i too sure I've heard a lot of talking. I’ve nearly drowned in their word . And my heart is full of answers, just as the sky is full of birds. There are so many paths up the mountain, nobody knows all the ways. There are so many paths up the mountain, and the view from the top — is still the same. If you should stumble and fall down, people don't know what to do. Pretend that they didn't notice, they'll side step and walk around you. Don’t let it be your worry. No, no, don't let it get you concerned. You've got to move on in your own direction, forget what you've ever learned. There are so many paths up the mt., nobody knows all the ways. There are so many paths up the mountain, and the view from the top is still the same. Mmm, yeah, yeah, yeah. Ia still the same, the view from the top ia still the same, wherever you look. It's still the same, still the same, still the same. Money, get back, I'm all right jack keep yar hands off my stack. Money, it's a hit. Don't give me that do goody good bull. I'm in the hi-fidelily first class travelling set And I think I need a Lear jet. Money, it'6 a crime Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie. Money, so they say.
