BERYLLIIIM CGPPER AN ALLOY WITH THE HARDNESS OF STEEL AND THE CONDUCTIVITY OF COPPER Take 2 !Q beryllium and 98o!o copper, and you have a wonderful alloy with many desirable physical properties. lt has the strength of steel combined with a considerable amount of electrical conductivity. lt has excellent re- sistance to corrosion, wear and an elastic behavior. lt is non-magnetic, and is unaffected by temperature changes over a wide range. In addition to standard compositions, the company has successfully introduced a number of special purpose beryllium copper materials. Among these are alloys developed for particular industries such as resistance welding and mold making. The possibilities of bringing forth still more new and useful alloys by varying the chemistry of beryllium copper are far from exhausted. Beryllium copper is being used successfully in many critical applications, for it is meeting more and more of the special requirements in the exacting field of product design.
