-FACULTY- RALPH E. WHITMER, B.A. Mr. Wbitmer, to the class of 758, is one teacher who not only dealt with problems of democracy, but the problems of the class, individuals, and the school. His enthusiasm was often displayed in the classroom, but for the most part, it was expended as an avid fan of the Preppers. Mr. Whitmer is a fine worker for the community, as shown by his formation of the Wheel Club. We will remember Mr. Whitmer as an able librarian, who could help you find the correct and pertinent information. EDGAR GOWER, B.S. Mr. Gower, our mechanical drawing instructor, is the only teacher to have a regular bus line fhis red and white '58 Chevy station wagonl between school and White Haven. This year he took 'the reins of the PREPPER baseball squad, a sport in which he was a whiz wit.h the Rivertown High School and the White Haven Aces. Whenever we had problems in drawing and consulted Mr. Gower, we were always greeted by a warm and quiet smile and a willingness to give aid. JOHN WITINSKI, B.S. The most recent addition to the teaching staff, Mr. Witinski performed admirably as a physics and mathematics instructor. He could often be seen explaining to an individual pupil the problems of these courses. Characterized by a willingness to work, Mr. Witinski showed great enthusiasm and interest in his efforts to impart knowledge. 47 -FACULTY- EDWARD J. YARISH, Bs., M.A.i A man who possesses an understanding of youth and his prob- lems, as well as chemistry and biology, is a true instructor. Such is Mr. Yarish, who always gave our class a helping hand. We can connect much of our high school life with him-chlorine gas, flashy neckties, Scranton U., basketball games, thumpers, initiations, and home economics. Next to science, Mr. Yarish has great interest in music, as song-fests proved. JOHN ROESCH, B.A., M.A. Mr. Roesch, head of M.M.l.'s language department, has certainly given us a fine background in the German language and culture. As a native German, educated under the noted gymnasium system, he was able to give us firsthand knowledge of the customs and habits of Europeans, as well as the language. Mr. Roesch is also a violinist par excellence! We will always consider him a good friend and cheerful fellow. l HERMAN W. FRIEDMAN, B.A. As an enthusiastic and conscientious teacher, Mr. Friedman has won the admiration and respect of everyone at M.lVI.I. He is always able to mix a little humor in class, and conducts it in a most interesting fashion. Mr. Friedman, capable senior adviser and frosh basketball mentor, is always ready to discuss student conduct or the sports situation, especially in Plymouth's vicinity. He is an asset to the school in his sincere efforts to give advice and guidance.
