-FACULTY- ANDREW J. STOFAN, B.A., M.A. We are truly indebted to Mr. Stofan for guiding us through higher mathematics and preparing us for college. We became highly absorbed and interested in his classes and marveled at his complete mastery of mathematics. The Class of '58 still is trying to ascertain where Mr. Stofan got all his information about our night life. We will always remember Mr. Stofan for his good advice, the lighter moments of his class, and his fine ideals. ALBERT P. GOEDECKE, B.S. Mr. Goedecke has earned the respect and admiration of the students through his hard work and the personal care he takes in the problems of every student. This year he capably directed the basketball team through another successful season. He demonstrated his ability as a coach when he brought the NPreppers into con- tention in the Anthracite League after a slow start. We will always remember Mr. Goedecke, not only as the coach, but also as a fine instructor and friend. JOSEPH L. STARK, B.S. Mr. Stark, one of our capable advisers, certainly gave us a fine background i-n English, literature, and theme and research paper writing. His philosophy that hard work is the only means of success will certainly be beneficial to us in the future. As adviser of the FLASHES, Mr. Stark contributed clever ideas and much time to the betterment of the paper. The class of '58 will always think of him as a man interested in the students' future.

47 -FACULTY- EDWARD J. YARISH, Bs., M.A.i A man who possesses an understanding of youth and his prob- lems, as well as chemistry and biology, is a true instructor. Such is Mr. Yarish, who always gave our class a helping hand. We can connect much of our high school life with him-chlorine gas, flashy neckties, Scranton U., basketball games, thumpers, initiations, and home economics. Next to science, Mr. Yarish has great interest in music, as song-fests proved. JOHN ROESCH, B.A., M.A. Mr. Roesch, head of M.M.l.'s language department, has certainly given us a fine background in the German language and culture. As a native German, educated under the noted gymnasium system, he was able to give us firsthand knowledge of the customs and habits of Europeans, as well as the language. Mr. Roesch is also a violinist par excellence! We will always consider him a good friend and cheerful fellow. l HERMAN W. FRIEDMAN, B.A. As an enthusiastic and conscientious teacher, Mr. Friedman has won the admiration and respect of everyone at M.lVI.I. He is always able to mix a little humor in class, and conducts it in a most interesting fashion. Mr. Friedman, capable senior adviser and frosh basketball mentor, is always ready to discuss student conduct or the sports situation, especially in Plymouth's vicinity. He is an asset to the school in his sincere efforts to give advice and guidance.
