Steven Johnson Steven Johnson wasamember ofthe crew oftheUSS Scorpion when itwaslast heard from on May 21, 1968. Steve graduated from M-F-L High School in 1964. While in high school he partici- pated in track, band, vocal groups, and speech, After enlisting in the Navy on January 1, 1964, he graduated from the Service Command, Submarine, and Nuclear Power School on April 26, Survivors parents, Mr. brother, and . He married Betty Sickman 1967. include his wife, daughter, and Mrs. Leland Johnson, a three sisters. In recognition of the devotion with the 1969 Bulldog. Keith Doerring Keith Doerring died while serving in the armed forces of our country. Keith graduated from Luana consolidated school in 1958 and was an honor student. After attending two years of college, he enlisted in the Army, and later was sta- tioned in Germany. He became ill in May 1964 and died in July 1964. The flag that draped the casket before burial was presented to the M-F-L High School and hangs on the north wall new gymnasium. Both the seventh grade and the eighth grade teams took first place honors at Waukon. In the second meet held.at,Valley, the seventh grade placed third and the eighth grade placed fourth. The seventh grade relay team set a record of 29.2 seconds at the jun- ior high Bulldog Relays and Kim Ca- hoon tied the pole vault record of 7 ft. 8 in. The eighth grade came in third.
