SENIOR CLASS PRCJPH ECY It was on May 26, 1982 at 10 P. M. which is exactly 19 years, 2 days, and 2 hours after my 1963 gra ation, that the great idea came to me, Connie Patterson, of touring the Universe. I climbed into my 1982 red and white striped, Missile- mobile, personally designed for me by universally wide known designer, Earl Glas- napp. He assured me that I would have no trouble in reaching my destination if I would just follow the 100 page operating pamphlet. I made my first stop at Lytton, which is my old hometown, just in time to see Roberta Meyer marching to the front of the gymnasium, to receive her 19-year bus driving certificate at the class day ceremonies. Since Roberta was free dur- ing the summer months, she hopped in my Missilemobile and off we went together. As we were both very interested in movie stars, we headed for Hollywood. As we were whizzing over Sac City, I realized that I had forgotten to fuel up at Lytton. It was necessary to make an emergency landing in a field south of Sac. As we approached the nearest farm house, we were blinded by a cloud of flying feathers coming from the direction of a chicken house. who should emerge from behind them, but the former Janet Eldridge, Now Janet Bogue. She was in hot pursuit of Larry who had just suggested selling the hens. She sold us some fuel and we proceeded on our way to Hollywood. Strolling down Hollywood and Vine, gazing at all the movie stars, we were surprised to meet Carol Hameister. She told us that she was Rick Nelson's per- sonal secretary. Rick gave her a well-earned vacation so she could accompany us. Since Hawaii had always fascinated us, we decided to make it our next stop. We were crossing the ocean admiring a beautiful red ship below, when we heard a familiar noise Haw . We landed beside the ship and found the one and only Darrell Boss. Darrell is now the commander of the new Navy ship, the Red Fox. we were greeted in Hawaii by Carol Jo Hilterbrand who offered to show us through her pineapple squeezing factory. Riding through the squeezing department, Carol pointed out her number one squasher, Bill Snyder. We then rode to the fro- zen pineapple department where another member of our class, Lester Baskerville was busily repairing a freezer. From here we zoomed to Venus and who should we find there but Shiela and Dale Ross on their second Honeymoon. we asked them how things were at home and they replied that everything was fine in the hands of Beverly Waterman who had agreed to baby sit for them. At the time Bev was on vacation from her job as head wait- ress at the Carlson House. From here we jaunted over to Pluto which is interplanetary famous for its D. F. Demien Midway Shows. David gave each of us a free ticket to his main at- traction, which turned out to be Doris Strain with her fantastic fire-eating trick. Doris was showing us around when we discovered that Carol was no longer with us. as we approached Doris's dressing room we heard a shrill scream. Carol had been trying out Doris's trick and had burnt herself. We rushed her to the nearest hospital and found that Donna Hinrichs was the doctor in charge. She soon had Carol fixed up and we decided that maybe we should return to Earth. Stopping for dinner on the moon we entered a beautiful large cafe and were greeted by the owner Phyllis Everts. Since it was rather late we decided to stay overnight on the moon at Evertsville. Phyllis told us that there was quite an attraction at the city gymnasium. The Boston Celtics were playing the Moonlighters. we were happy to see that Rick Wulkow was the star player for the Celtics by dump- ing in a neat 75 points. Back on Earth we landed in New York where we decided to sit in on a session of the UN. From somewhere we heard a familiar voice say Bonjour . Turning around we found the former Pat Cross busily interpreting for her husband who is the French Ambassador to the UN. Going out to Long Island, we watched a ship docking. Coming ashore was a group of Waves, and one of them turned out to be Peggy Kruckenberg. She told us that since she is married to a sailor they have decided to make the Navy their li e. On our radiovuaheard that during our trip, Bob Kreft, had been elected Pre- sident, due to his famous Kennedy hairstyle. Arriving at the White House, we were greetaibythe First Lady, theformer Judy Schelle. fAs the old saying goes, you always endupnwrrying the girl next door.l Wewere not too surprised to find Mr. Ball as Bob's personal advisor. Mr. Ball said he was still trying to teach Bob the fundamentals of government. We all agreedthatChicago would be the best way to end our trip as it would bring back pleasant memories of our senior trip so long ago. We attended the evening show at the Gi Gi Nightclub and were we ever shocked to see Dennis Hinrichs, of all people to be in Chicago, singing his latest hit song nVa1ory'. After an enjoyable chat with Dennis, weeach returned to our own occupation. fi if N f S POEM Q' We're the '63' Seniors of Lytton High, With the knowledge we've gained we'll reach for the sky. As we enter the world to face the unknown, we'll remember the guidance that we've been shown. We've made many friends throughout the years, Our memories of them will always be dear, we'll always recall the adventures we've had, Some of them good and some of them bad. Shy little girls and bashful small boys, Entering school we left our toys. Up through the grades we've worked our way, Until we've come to this final day. We've been discouraged, we've wished we could quit, But nevertheless each did his bit. Our parents have worked and guided us through, we honor them, it is their due. The future stretches beyond our sight, But we will try with all our MIGHT. The problems we've solved, the lessons we've done, The tournaments entered, the trophies won. will soon be memories of happy years, Onward we go, we'll conquer our fears.
