A combinafion of oral drills, fape record- ings, dialogues, and fhe use of fhe language lalo helped fo develop each sfudenf's conversafional fluency. Grammar lessons emphasized and supple- menfed grammafical maferial infroduced in oral work. As fhe pupils acquired skill in a specific language, fhey became familiar wifh fhe culfure of fhe foreign counfry.
