TO OUR PARENTS for seeing that we were equipped both physically and spiritually; TO OUR TEACHERS for not only extending to us the facts of education, but also providing the inspiration for us to accept and use these facts; TO OUR COMMUNITY for providing the school facilities and supporting us in all our activities; We extend our deepest gratitude for all assistance in the past and hope that we can in some way pass on this assistance to others. 5 Administration School Board From left to right: Gertrude Cook; Jack Taylor; Leland Dorsey, Su- perintendent; Stanley Ottgen, President; Pat Simon, Clerk; Herbert Barnes; Daryl Kleck. In the past nine months we have grown fond of her. She is always there when she is needed. We welcome her cheery smile and bubbly personality. Lower Left: Mrs. Doris Hinkle has been at the Lyons building for a number of years and her services have been appre- ciated not only by the grade school but also by the high school. Thanks Mrs. Hinkle! Lower Right: Mrs. Ruth Garrow is sec- retary at the Chesterfield building. She not only is secretary to the principal but also does various duties throughout the school for teachers as well as for students. 13 Mrs. Doris Hinkle Mrs. Ruth Garrow Dorthea Rowland and Thea Gleckler are cooks at the Lyons building. Services Verna Mae Bailey and Helen Smith serve meals at the Chesterfield building. John Kuszmaul and Bert Tuckerman are the custo dians at the Chesterfield building. Ida Mae Wyant, Helen Fleming and Roscoe Fleming serve as custodians at the Lyons Building. 14 No senior locker is proper- ly decorated unless there is an old shoe and a dust mop. It's a shame there is no room for books! An extra shoe is nice if you are in need of one. The dust mop keeps the locker nice and clean. Senior Class Officers BACK ROW: Sharon Pon- tius, Secretary: Larry Kuney, Treasurer: Fred Bovee, Vice President; FRONT ROW: Vicki Riegel, Presi- dent This locker is typical of the boys in the senior class. Note the car for speedy get aways! Of course, it would not be complete without a picture here and there. Glasses are kept handy in case they are needed. 16 GAA 1,2,3; Chorus 1,2,3; FHA 1,2,3; officer 2 CAROL ARMSTRONG LINDA BATES DEAN BALLARD FFA 2,3,4; Pep Club 2; Year- book Staff 4; Newspaper Staff 3; SEATED; Maryjo Borton, Editor STANDING: Molly Tredway, Assistant Editor Don't you have that copy finished yet? Is the deadline this Saturday? Will this picture fit? Famil- iar questions? They certainly were to the Lyons Roar staff members. Decisions, decisions - it seemed the staff was always faced with them. Between racking their brains for picture ideas and proofreading pages, the staff managed to find time for a little fun and still meet the last deadline on time. 52 Co-editors; Lillian Bandy, Cheryl Whitis The Newspaper Staff works hard to get the paper completed by the end of the month. Everyone must search for an article to put in the paper. Each month there is a very good editorial along with sports, com- ing events, grade school news and organiza1- tional events. The paper was entered in the NODJA Contest at Bowling Green State University. Staff members and Miss Meyers worked hard to try for a superior rating.
