I I 0 Somewhere between the 1nte rchanges of Maumee and Wauseon Oh1o on the Oh1o Turnp1ke we saw a new 1964 Jaguar approach1ng us It seemed to us that1t was exceed1ng the 80m per hr speed l1m1t Our susp1c1ons were cor rect as lt was only a few mlnutes before we heard the wa1l of a pol1ce s1ren Not w1sh1ng to m1ss anyth1ng we stopped to w1tness the outcome The f1rst th1ng that surpr1sed us was the handsomely att1red pol1cewoman who looked vaguely fam1l1ar And sure enough we knew her' She was none other than our Sh1r1ey Lemke Who should be the proud possessor of the Jaguar but our dear school fr1end U S A1r Force General Daryl H1ldreth' R1d1ng w1th h1m was Charlle M1ka the newly elected Eng1neer of the M1kav1lle Sewage D15 posal Umt Sh1rley was so surpr1sed to see her old school chums that she 1gnored the1r traff1c v1olat1on SIHCC lt was nearly lunch t1me we dec1ded to cont1nue our rem1n1sc1ng at a Larry Cox restaurant a few m1les down the road Just as we were cl1mb 1ng 1nto our cars we heard someone call And1ook1ng around we were elated to see Dan Peebles mow1ng the lawn on the boulevard Not far beh1nd h1m came Duke Shuman p1ck1ng up the grass He was a guest 1n the home of Dan and h1s w1fe Duke's w1fe Myrna nee Yost was 1n Par1s She 1S the U S Fore1gn Representatlve for the No St1ck Um bubble gum company Dan and Duke dec1ded to Jo1n our group and on the way to the restaurant we learned that Dan was happ1lymarr1ed to Obdul1a nee Sernal Theyhave s1x lovely ch1ldren We also learned that our charm1ng pol1ce escort was marr1ed to Lyle Cleg horn who has a skunk farm near Toledo Just as we were about to enter the restaurant an a1rplane flew over very low The p1lot waved We were told that he was R1chard Gleason a capta1n of the TWA We then proceeded 1nto the restaurant We were astomshed to see the 'hash sl1nger was Jean Cook' Wh1le we were wa1t1ng for our d1nners Sh1rl y told us tha+ Pee Wee Clarkhas made a name for herself 1n the telev1s1on f1eld as a ballet dancer She 1S marr1ed to Gorgeous George L1ndsay the famous wrestler Dan sa1d that h1s good fr1ends V1c and Ros1e R1ce nee Vander donck were successful m1ss1onar1es 1n Afr1ca Jean brought us our d1nners and stayed at our table for awh1le to chat She sa1d that the Ch1Cf cook and bottlewasher was Joe E1cher and the manager for Mr Cox s restaurant was D1ck Gallup She also told us that the former Maxlne Conrad and Joe E1cher were newlyweds After we left the restaurant we bade farewell to all our fr1ends As we cont1nued our Journey we stopped at a gas stat1on for gas and an o1l change The attendant skated out to us and 1mmed1ately began WaSh1ng the w1ndsh1eld As we peered through the w1ndow at each other we found that she was Jamce Darnman another former classmate She sa1d that herhusband Gerald Derby was the manager of the cha1n of gas stat1ons along the turnp1ke Jan1ce also told us that her fr1end Barbara Lamb 1S an ant1que dealer 1n Sewardv1lle near her hometown Lyons Oh1o We asked Jan1ce concermng Ga1l Dr1skell's where abouts She sa1d that Ga11 IS work1ng w1th L1ly Dache's 1n New York C1ty and at the present t1me was des1gn1ng a new hat for her See1ng Jamce had made our day complete We were so happy to have seen and heard from all of the 1954 graduates who had been our classmates at Lyons H1gh School 17 - 1 . , . , 4 . , - - . 1 . . . . n . c . a - ---a set of triplets, a pair of twins, and another child.
