(?leu '53 77t z£e6 ‘rVeadCutea Mr. I. W. Benedict, retired Superintendent of schools, is watching tele- vision in his newly built home when in comes Mr. R. E. Johnston, famous Ohio State coach. After talking over old times Mr. Johnston's eye caught the headlines of the Toledo Blade. ED WILSON FOR PRESIDENT! Mr . Johnston quickly picked up the paper. Look! Have you seen this? Why no! said Mr. Benedict, that's certainly a surprise. And here . . . .'Ray Tack for Vice-President!' What's this down here? Mrs. Mick Hartsell (former Mary Ellen Sargent) is the mother of a new set of triplets. This makes twelve children for them. Cheaper by the dozen! Let's turn to the Movie Column. Here's Wacky Patterson's picture. Why look at those headlines! 'Ray Patterson takes place of Fred Astaire, famous dancer.' He's certainly changed. Why, here in the obituary column some manfrom Lyons died and he's in the Sallows Funeral Home. That must be Paul Sallows! Now let's turn to the sports page. Barbara Lewandowski and Mary Jane Graham will wrestle tonite at Madison Square Gardens. That should prove exciting. Here's something about Lyons! The basketball team won the tourna- ment this year. The first five of the Varsity team are the five Shaw boys; there are three Shaw girls who are cheerleaders. These.are sons and daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Mick Shaw, nee Carol Gillespie. 'Charlene Santee swims English Channel in eleven hours!' She really broke the record. Gerald O'Leary and Dale Lather will box tomorrow night for the heavyweight championship. Look at this page! Here's a picture of someone familiar. Why it's Sue and Harold. 'Couple takes honeymoon from Main to California on a bicycle built for two.' Now isn't this something? 'The second Einstein, Professor Barth, invents a new bomb greater than H-Bomb.' Here's something I can't quite picture! George Kesler starts baby- sitting in Lyons! That's something I would like to see. Isn't this great? 'Millionaire Leroy Gillespie builds new library , swimming pool, and theater for Lyons.' That must have made Lyons quite a nice city! We've seen the entire class of '53 and they've certainly all made suc- cess. Gail Driskell Janice Damman Charlie Mika 20
