 In 1948 We started at a slow pace. In 1952 We ended in a jet race. With Miss Anderson yelling gitty up', to our horse and wagon, we started into what seemed to be four long years of travel. In the first wagon was Ramon Lamb assisted by Delbert Felkey. Mary Laiman took care of our funds and letters to our folks. Others riding along were, Ella Jean Burroughs, Wayne Baldwin, Lowell Eicher, Helen Gilbert, Mary Lou Gillespie, Harlen Green, Janis Gunn, Dale Hallett, Judy Kennedy, Al Peeble , Charles Peebles, Max Seigneur, Earl Woerner, Joan Markley, Barbara Delano, Irene Snead, Wayne Holland, and Kenneth Green. We had a slow but nice trip. By the time we got around for our next trip President Mary Lou Gillespie made a motion we spend some of our money for a car, seconded by vice-president, Max Seigneur. Al Peebles ordered the car and wrote the check when it arrived. Delbert Felkey, our student council member, notified us that Joan Markley, Barbara Delano, Irene Snead and Wayne Baldwin were afraid of the new fangled cars and wouldn't be taking the trip this year. Miss Anderson was our driver, she changed her name to Mrs. Loclcert in the middle of the year. We went full speed ahead (20 miles per hour) for a successful trip. On our third year of travel we decided to board a still later invention the airplane. We elected Miss Schroeder to be our overseer, Dale Hal- lett was chosen by a unanamous decision to be our pilot with Delbert Felkey as co-pilot. Max Seigneur made an excellant navigator and Ramon Lamb was chosen to handle the finances. Our councilors for the trip were Judy Kennedy and Charles Peebles. Sybil Turlington joined our little expedition but dropped out around the three quarter mark. Ken- neth Green also decided to start out on his own. We decided a rocket ship would do very nicely for our fourth and final trip. The trip proved later to be much too fast. Mr. Johnston spon- sored the trip and Judy Kennedy was chosen to handle the controls of this speed wagon since it was a very difficult job. Dale Hallett was elect- ed to be her assistant. Mary Laiman kept track of our mail and minutes. Janis Gunn handled our finances and our councilors were Charles Peebles and Max Seigneur. Our final expedition ended much too soon but a very wonderful time was had by all. The Seniors of 52 leave this last word of advice, you'll never know what you ve missed if you don’t complete these last four expeditions of your school career.

CLASS POEM We, the senoirs of fifty two. Bid our dear school a fond adieu. Soon we'll leave the dear old halls. But happy memories we will soon recall. Of the carefree times we had together Through sunshine, cloud and stormy weather. Many times we thought the task too tough For us to tackle, -just that was enough To make us work harder than ever before The job to finish that lay at our door. We're sorry to say many times we have shirked Our duty to do, when we should have worked For we soon found out school wasn't all fun Each had his share of the work to be done. But school wasn't all work without play. For there was always a brighter day That surely came when work was done Then each one had a share of the fun. We thank our teachers and parents, too. For being so patient with us all through Our high school days that we hold so dear. -- Now the time to leave is drawing near. And, as we, go we have of you Many dear memories, fond and true. Of work and play, through sunshine and rain. Many times we'll wish we were back again. It's with tear-dimmed eyes, we must confess. That we are leaving dear L. H. S. Dale Hallett

I, Helen Gilbert, will my school spirit to Gaylord Barden; also my love for college basketball to Carol Gillespie. I, Mary Lou Gillespie, will my dirty cheerleading shoes to Sue Waldron; and my beat up snare drum to J. C. Phillips. I, Max Seigneur, will my ability to play basketball to Ray Tack; also my bookkeeping books to Mick Shaw. I, Janis Gunn, will my chemistry apron to Mary Ellen Sargent; and my living room to Carol Smith. (Have to keep those parties in the fam- ily). I, Daie Haiiett, will my siim figure to Shirley Lemke; also my singing ability to Mr. Benedict. I, Dick Hinkle, wiH my Ford to Wacky Patterson; and my ability to skip a grade to Janice Damman. I, Wayne Holland, will my way with the girls to Dale Lather; also my love for Ag. class to Harold Holland. I, Mary Laiman, will my lovely gifts from that man of mine to anyone who thinks they are more deserving. (We think they will be life-long possessions! !) I, Ray Lamb, will my beautiful hair to Mick Shaw; also my ability to wreck cars to Babe O'Leary. I, Judith Kennedy, will my love for cars (with batteries in them); and my knowledge of driving to anyone with a lot of nerve. I also will my report card to Mr. Hershberger. I, Al Peebles, will my Pontiac to Danny (for a price, of course); also my height to Larry Cox. I, Charles Peebles, will my beat up '41 Ford to anyone wanting it; also my parking place in McCance’s woods to Mick Shaw. I, Harlen Green, will my ability to work to Joe Eicher; and my stolen pencils to the theif. I, Beverly Sheeley, will my sports ability to Joyce Skinner; also my French book to Micky Hartsell. I, Earl Woerner, will my hair to Mr. Johnston; and my figure to Bar- bara Lewandowski. We, the Seniors, will the calendars in the senior room to the Juniors; our ability to stay off the honor roll to the Sophomores; our excuses to get out of classes to the Freshmen; our text books which are usually in the office to the faculty; and the fun we will have on our trip to the Lo- cal Grapevine .
