Q abdicto ij After tonight we shall be able to look back on 1952 with many mem- ories - some pleasant and some that can not be called exactly pleasant. We have made many mistakes but with each mistake a lesson was learned. Looking back we each realize that one of our biggest mistakes was the fact that we did not pay attention in classes as we should have. As we leave Lyons High School, we are entering a new world. Our life is really just beginning. This new life will be entirely different. In the past, we have done what we were told to do. Now the decisions will be our own. There will be many more responsibilities for us to shoulder and we are old enough now to realize that we must stand on our own feet. We will each enter into this new life along a different path. Some wish to better their eduucation by going to college, while others will find happiness in marriage and many of us are undecided which path to take. Regardless of which pathway we follow, we shall put ourselves wholeheartedly in whichever position we take. Before we leave Lyons High, I wish to thank, on behalf of the Sen- iors of '52, the teachers and all our parents who have guided us through the past twelve years of school. These years have a definite place in our memories and shall never be forgotten. Mary Laiman £ a Graduation this evening brings an end to the most wonderful years of our lives. The memories connected with these 12 years of school are full of happy times from our grade school, junior high, and high school days. As we recall the memories of our classes, school parties, dances, band and glee club, and the scrapes we were in, we regret ever saying, I'm just putting in my time until the day I graduate. After tonight we will enter a new world of responsibility. Most of us have certain goals we will try to reach. The effort on our teacher’s and parent's part has prepared us for this time. No one can truthfully say that his school years were a waste of time. As for me, I am proud to be graduating with the class of 1952 from Lyons High School and I hope that I can live in the years to come in such a way as to make my parents, teachers, and those who have assisted me, proud. Judy Kennedy
