G..ASS HISTORY Thts commg June, approx1mately forty of the orrgmal seventy students who entered hrgh school m 1951 w1l1 make therr exrt from L C S bemg the last class to do so from the present school burldmg From the moment we entered hrgh school we knew there was one thrng we must work for money for our Semor tnp ln our Freshman year the class was headed by Jerry Larkm, Presrdent asststed by Mrs Hutton class adv1sor All our eager, brllhant class members worked hard that frrst year and we started our Sophomore year w1th the tmmense sum of S5 00 tn our treasury after splurg1ng on a Freshman Class p1cn1c In our Sophomore year we really buckled down and held our flrst dance The Sophomore Hop Dave DeV1to was our Presrdent and Coach Blackwell was our adv1sor A Bake Sale was held and a class plCI11C concluded the BCUVIIIBS of our Sophomore year W1th the select1on of our class rmgs, our J un1or year commenced Now we were really on our way That year Rldlle Justrno was elected Presxdent and Mr Buell was chosen as our class adv1sor Among our varrous Junlor year acuvmes was a dance called the Turkey Trot We were so encouraged by the success of EhlS dance that we declded to hold a .Tumor Prom even though the class precedmg us broke the tradrtron of holdmg one We concluded our busy J un1or year w1th a May magazme sale and the sale of candy taken over from the Semors May Rodney Lester was elected Presldent Rrchard Justmo, V1ce Presrdent Shrrley Wunder Secretary and Angela DeV1to Treasurer w1th Mr Sullwan as our class adv1sor We started off the year with the annual magazrne dr1ve We also sold candy m school and sponsored the refreshment stand at home football and basketball games In nud October the Senior plctures were taken and we all looked forward to seemg the fuushed products Late 1n November plans for the Semor Ball wh1ch was held December 20 got under way Then 1n the sprmg, the annual Senlor Play was presented tmder the dxrectxon of Mr Magrll Now the time we had been wamng for all through hrgh school was very near Durmg the sprmg vacauon rn May the Class of 55 w1ll have taken the annual Semor tr1p After that trme there was just one more b1g event to look forward to Graduatlon What wrll happen to the members of the class after that n.tght Only t1me wrll tell We, the Class of 1955 d1d nothmg out of the ordrnary durtng our four lugh school years About the only thmg we mlght be remembered for IS mlllg the last class to be graduated from the Wtlham Street School All 1n all I thmk everyone has enjoyed has past four years and wrll mrss them Well, we made it.
