Iustino. 6 S Cfadri Adfor In a few weeks forty of the or1g1nal nmety one students who entered h1gh school 1n 1950 w1ll proudly walk across the stage 1n front of the1r beam1ng parents and frlends and wlth Pomp and C1rcumstance rlngmg 1n the1r ears w1ll recelve the1r ex1t papers What events led up to th1s great day? What happened to the rest of our or1g1nal class? Well It happened l1ke th1s Once upon a t1me not many years ago mnety one students entered h1gh school wlth one thmg IH mlnd BECOMING SENIORS It was rather a dull year Kenny Walters was elected to pres1de over the class and later ln the year we held a Barn Dance Of course we lost a few of our classmates One boy felt the need to serve h1s country and one felt the need to terd the cows As usual there were a few who enJoyed the1r Freshman year so much that they dec1ded to try lt agaln Well only 6022 of us entered our Sophomore year We elected D1ck Tuscher as pres1dent and proceeded to hold a Sophomore Hop We were forced to leave only seven students beh1nd th1s year In our .Tun1or year smxty of us eagerly looked forward to choosmg our class rlngs We went broke pay1ng for them but It was worth It D1ck Gutschow was v1ce pres1dent Jack1e Sm1th treasurer and June .Tustlno secretary We took over candy prwrleges after the f1rst semester trylng to make some money for the Senmor trmp Up to that t1me we certa1nly d1dn t have much Mr Atwood shortly after the m1d year exams warned us that 1f we d1dn t watch out LCS would have the smallest Senlor class 1n hlstory He was rlght for that year we lost twenty of our members Well we re Senlors at last Dlck Gutschow pres1dent D1ck Tuscher v1ce pres1dent Sher1 Lander treasurer and .Tune Justlno secretary were elected the year before to save t1me We 1mmed1ately began to sell magazmes and stat1onary to ra1se our personal budgets for the tr1p Of course candy was the mam 1tem sold In November we had our senlor p1ctures taken and wa1ted eagerly to see 1f anyth1ng could be done to 1mprove faces l1ke ours At Chrmstmas we sold Chrlstmas candy and as we d1dn t have a Junlor Prom we held a Chr1stmas Ball In February we held a bake sale st1ll trylng to ra1se our resources The Senlor play was held w1th Mr Maglll as dlrector and we showed the people that we had great act1ng ab1l1ty At last the b1g day came and we left for New York and Washlngton to spend 1n a few days the money It had taken four years to save We can t say whether there s a happy end1ng for everyone to thls story Only graduat1on n1ght w1ll tell that But most of the remalnmg senlors w1ll agree xt s been a wonderful four years 7 m X959 0 2 3 vw Nur l ,X V , I ole: Q , . . . - . . . . . v . . , .
