Delbert Jones mixes classes and goes to study hall instead of algebra. Joe Cox receives a broken collar bone in F. B. practice. Too bad, Joe. Class elections. Dean, Dwight, Lawrence, and Marion head the classes for the year. Phyllis Enders named editor of the Spotlight, Chas. Sledd is her yes man. Pat, Annette. Peggy, Marian, and Norman are chosen to lead the yells for L. H. S. L.H.S. band travels to Hutchinson to parade at the State Fair. L.H.S. played McPherson in their first football game of the sesaon. Again a 6-6 tie. Senior rings finally arrive . . . Not so many questions for Miss Gunnarson to answer now. Yearbooks go on sale, H200 or bust. Leroy, top salesman for the 1950 Lions Roar. OCTOBER Stafford defeats Lyons 7-0. Leo and the front of L.H.S. building catch the paint. Sterling out decorating again. The Lions battled the Sterling Bears and came out on top with a score of 32-13. The new stadium is fine! Everyone enjoyed the Big and Little Sister party in the Gym. The student council presented Ben Hammond, cartoonist, in as- sembly. Senior boys start Halloween pranks a little early. Boys spend the noon hour in County Attorney's office. For Sale Sign appears in front of L.H.S. building. Class of 1950 set a record by having the F.B. queen all four years. Zeke crowned Annette Football Queen of 1949. An the gobble-uns 'll get you, if you don't watch out! NOVEMBER Vacation-Faculty attend State Teachers Meeting. Ambassador Quartet present a splendid performanceg thanks to the Student Council. Good speech, Tiny. Art exhibit by Bethany College. Y-Teen conference at Ellsworth. Armistice Day. Big parade and a bigger football game. The Lions defeated the Bear Cats 9-0. Junior play. They really Shook the Family Tree. Thanksgiving. Um! Um! And for Thy many mercies, we thank Thee, Lord. Hi-Y Father and Son party. Report cards cause some mighty long faces. DECEMBER Band people invade Lyons for the C.P.L. clinic. Lyons stopped Hillsboro 38-36 in a thrilling first B.B. game of the season. Faculty dinner-Mr. Buller receives first ride on a scooter. Y-Teens place a beautiful Christmas tree in the lower hall. Decoration of the tree is an old time custom, yet ever new. Jack Orr named captain of C.P.L. team. F.B. letters presented by Coach Yeoman. Rev. Smith delivers a special Christmas message at assembly. First snow. Bob sledding popular with L.H.S. students. Mixed Chorus presents the annual Christmas program. Santa Claus is Coming to Town. And so as Tiny Tim observed, God Bless Us, Everyone! The Lions take a back seat, while Great Bend wins 43-30. New Year's Eve. Old man time is on his way out.
