pdllel The Central Committee of the Democratic Party in Greene County invited some of the students from the Lyons High School to appear on its victory dinner program and to discuss some of the problems about the formation and actual operation of the govemment of the United States. After a consideration of the invitation, the students decided to present a panel discussion. Among those to present views of the panel were: Linda Mullis, Nina Ray, Dorothy Puckett, Sherry Leavitt, David Martindale, Clyde Tibbett, Bob Patterson, and Carl Strosnider. The panel appeared as a mixed group politically, and it had no interest or concern about party matters. Each member offered his views as he saw it, and the discussion of the group as a whole con- vinced those present thot the high-school students are concerned about the affairs of government and are anxious about the solution of its problems. The panel displayed an unusually thorough grasp about some of our present needs, and it exhibited more than the average grasp of what this government should do for the young people. l congratulate the panel for its creditable work, and I compliment any political group that bows in respect to the young people. Now do you think I ought to kiss her? LaMarr G.: Nol You don't have to. You've done enough for that girl. Frank Fox: Just think, a single Mormon would have as many as ten wives. Carl S.: Gee, how many did the married ones have? Mr. Voss: Standing before the map and said, Ed, when you stand facing Europe, you have on your right hand the great continent of Asia. What have you on your left hand? Ed Wright: A wort. Afew automobile accidents were caused the past summer because a bee got into the car.
