Grade 3 Eleven girls and eleven boys enrolled in the third grade this year. Our class activities this year have included a Halloween party, a Christmas party, and a number of birthday parties. We sang in the Thanksgiving and Christmas programs held in the school auditorium. Grade 2 Sixteen girls and seventeen boys were enrolled in the second grade at the beginning of the l954- 55 school year. Later, Ronald Rodocker moved to Indianapolis and David Resler moved to Switz City. Our class activities for this year have included a Halloween party, a Christmas party with a gift exchange, a Valentine box, and a number of birthday parties. The whole class participated in singing songs for the Thanksgiving and Christmas programs held in the school auditorium. Grade l Twenty-three six year olds, fifteen boys and eight girls, made their debut in grade one on September 2, 1954. They sang two songs in the Thanksgiving and Christmas musical programs. We enjoy and appreciate birthday parties given by the mothers, also the turkey dinner and Christmas entertainment sponsored by the community. To date we have had no withdrawals or new entries. Linda Mullis: Mary milked the cow. Nlory's a noun and is the subject, and cow is a pronoun that stands for Mary. Mr. Voss: Explain yourself. Linda: WeIl, how could she milk the cow if it didn't stand for her? Joe Ulrich: Vl:hat's your greatest worry? Richard Hasler: Money Joe: But l didn 't know you had any. Richard: I haven't . Sherry: Yes, but after I drank for 35 minutes, I couldn't drink any longer. Patty Joslin: How can I get rid of corns? Mrs. Bailey: Stand on o hot stove, and they will pop. Frank Fox: Do you soy grace at your house? Perry Ausman: No sir. Father said 'Grace' in his sleep one night and mother almost killed him. Sherry Leavitt: ls there anything you can do better than anyone else? Delmar O'Neall: Yes, read my own writing. Carl Strosnider: Do you mind fell- ing me how much you eam a month? Mr. Aydelotte: learn S200 but I only get 515. The absent-minded professor went out to lunch, and left pinned to his door o card which read: Prof. H. R. H. will be back at I P.M. Returning at l2:30, he read the notice, looked at his watch, and sat down to wait for himself to return. Carl Strosnider: VW1y does Bob Patterson always carry his watch in his hip pocket? Perry Ausman: So he can get to school ahead of time . Dorothy Puckett: How do you like me with my hair hack? Carolyn Goad: l didn't know you had loaned it to anyone. Junior Allen: When I was born, I only weighed two pounds. Richard Hasler: Nhrcy--did you live? Junior: Surel Just look at me nowl lt runs in the best of families. What? A silk stocking? No, the water in the kitchen sink. David Martindale: Whom do you wish to zee'? Delmar O'Neall: Mr. Heckleman.
