uniot elau -ffiftoty The iunior class began the l954-55 school year with twelve students. Three members moved during the summer. Mary Ruth Flynn moved to Switz City, Philip York to Switz City, and Hugh Enicks to Attica. We have one new member, Patty Joslin, who moved to Lyons from Bruceville. We had a successful magazine drive this year, and at the close of it, the losers held a party for the winners. Linda Nullis and Merlin Strosnider each won a camera for being the high salesmen of the drive. The class had a stand at the Halloween carnival, and we also sold popcom at the home ball games. We are planning a reception to be held on April 29. Class officers selected this year were: Merlin Strosnider, president, David Martindale, vice- president, Arlene Scott, secretary-treasurer, and LaMarr Griffith, msistant secretary-treasurer .fopiomote glass 1Qlz'.4toty The sophomore class began the T954 school year with an enrollment of sixteen. One student, Ray Carpenter, withdrew from school during the first semester. We elected the following officers: president, Tommy Bedwell, vice-president, Barbara Wright, secretary, Pat Higgins, treasurer, .bhn Mercer. A hayride was sponsored by the class on October 29. It was a great success. The class enioyed a Christmas party on December 23, at the home of Linda Brown. We are planning a trip at the end of the year. qztesiman 6145.4 lfiatoty The freshman class began the year with twenty-four enrolled. Two members moved during the sum- mer. They were Richard Dayhoff, who moved to Linton, and Nancy Carpenter, who moved to Newberry and is attending Switz City School. During the year Joann Resler moved to Switz City and Shirley Wright to Linton. Two members ioined the class during the first semester. They were: Ralph Fulford from Marco and Dale Byers from Worthington. Class officers selected this year were: Kay Kendall, president, Larry Hasler, vice-president, Sondra Edwards, secretary, Patsy Mullis, treasurer, and Bill Powers, news reporter. The class enioyed a wiener roast and hayride the first semester and, during the year, sold Christmas cards to help finance a trip our senior year. 20
