Class Prophecy My dear Mr Vass Are you enloying your position as Speaker of the House? I was very glad to hear that you have changed your polntucsl I? I lust came back from a delayed and much wanted vacation I was down around the old community and school where we had so many good times I ran into some of the old classmates who have not ventured somewhere else for their fortune, and I thought you might be interested in their whereabouts While shopping in Bloomfield one day, I met none other than the used to be Blnnne Bosell She told me she married Hugh Branson and they have a little Branson She told me that Edward Ketchem was in New York We had quite a laugh You know what a Yankee fan Eddie was He now owns the Yankees He was married to the daughter of the Brooklyn Dodgers manager, but their marriage failed when he caught her drilling holes In his team s bats I also chanced to meet Ray Bedwell and Jack Summerville They were telling me about their new Diesel Trucking Lines They have set a new record for safety and speed in coast to coast freight hauling They told me about Snr Frank Flynn He IS planning an expedition to Africa to bring back some animals for the Lyons Zoo which is owned by his former classmate, Avery Padgett Avery is planning eventually to make the Lyons Zoo, which IS the third one he has organized, the world s largest while I WGS In Newberry, Indiana, on business, I met Lula Lambrlght, who IS now Swrtz Cnty has consolidated with Newberry Newberry is now a prosperous community, since the addition of an atom bomb plant to the fair city Phil Mercer is manager over the plant He is making S200 O00 a year H s 'ob takes him all over the world Phil is not married as yet, but IS stall hoping He rs one ofthe country s most eligible bachelors, and this year was voted the best-dressed man for I960 I was window shopping when I bumped into Kay Lace She told me that she was living on a farm west of Worthington and is very happy and that Phyllls Floyd and Patsy Vaughn were operatmg a glamorous night club in Hollywood, Callfomla Phyllis rs gettmq manned on the fifth of June and gomg to Paris on her honeymoon, and, as usual, no one knows who the guy is Patsy rs still unmarried, but not for long, from what I hear I stopped in Bloomfield on my way home I ran into Pattle Nichols Edwards and since she IS a money making fashion designer, she bought me a cup of coffee I learned from her that Loretta Steele as secretary for the President of the United States She is now married to the president of Purdue University I had lust gotten home and settled myself in an easy chalr, when the doorbell rang When I opened the door who should be standing there but .llm Duffey He IS now playing ball with the New York Kmckerbockers I8 . , . . . . . . . , . , . . . l l I I I I I O O ' I principal of the Newberry High School.
