Senuor Class Hustory At the begunnung of the l95O Sl school year, thurty pupuls enrolled un the freshman class, ten of whom came from Newberry The thurty are as follows Those from Lyons Bunnue Bosell, Ray Bedwell Delorus Cooper Jum Duffey, Pattue Nuchols, Loretta Steele, Lula Lambrught, Avery Padgett Franlclun Flynn Sue Lancaster, Ed Ketchem, Sue West, Carolyn Page, Kay Lace, Joan Rowe Phyllus Floyd, Phyllus Prentuce, Gulbert Flynn Mary Belle Frye, and Eva Perlcuns Those from Newberry Tom Martun, Joe DeVune, Newton Guthery Bull Garrett, Margaret Autrey, Vurgunua Norrus, Carolyn Moore, Naomu Fancher, Sally Hughes, and Jeanette Lee The second semester two new members were added to the class They were Patsy Vaughn from Terre Haute and Charles Smuth from Greencastle Later un the term Carolyn Moore Phyllus Prentuce Naomu Fancher and Gulbert Flynn wuthdrew from the class The class offucers selected were Tom Martun presudent Carolyn Page vuce presudent, .lum Duffey, secretary treasurer and Sue West, news reporter The class sponsor was Mr Heclcman The class enloyed two partues durung the furst semester, a Halloween party and a Chrustmas party, both of whuch were held at the school buuldung The class enuoyed a trup to Sprung Mull State Park the second semester The sophomore year, l95l 52 found only seventeen pupuls enrolled un the class Newberry Hugh School was transferred to Swutz Cuty Hugh School thus year There was only one new member the group, Sharon Mutchell from Loogootee Hugh School We lost four puplls dururug the summer They enrolled un the dufferent hugh schools They are as follows Franklun Flynn to Swutz Cuty Hugh School, Sue West to Plaunvulle Hugh School Sue Lancaster to Mutchell Hugh School, and Charles Smuth to Greencastle Hugh School Later un the term Mary Belle Frye moved to Bloomfueld where she entered school Officers selected for the year were Eddue Ketchem, presudent Loretta Steele vuce presudent Lula Lambrught, secretary treasurer, and Carolyn Page, news reporter The class sponsor was Mr Heckman The furst semester a wuener roast was held on Doyle Pages s property The second semester the class enloyed a trup to Sprung Mull State Park ln 1952, suxteen lunuors were enrolled at Lyons Hugh School The class lost two Students They were Joan Rowe, who entered Swutz Cuty Hugh School and Eva Perkuns, who moved to lnduanapolus to enter hugh school There were two new members of the class They were Jack Summervulle from Aruzona, who had attended Chandler Hugh School and Phulup Mercer, who attended Quuncy Hugh School 16 I C . : : I I I I , .
