30 Class of 7965 On June 17, the Class of 1965 will say l'Bon Voyage to their Castle of Mem- ories. It is hard for us to realize that we are about to step out into the adult world. Let us hope that the deeds we shall do in the future will reflect the confidence and effort put forth by the faculty and our parents during our four years at Lynwood High. Our freshman year opened to us a new world of learning and of social activities. With President Mary Bauer at the helm, we embarked Upon our first Homecoming. Our float, named 'lJack and Jill, helped to add enthusiasm to the homecoming fes- tivities. The traditonal Saint Patricks Day Dance, Irish Stomp, proved to be a suc- cess. To bolster our funds, we purchased Thank-You-Notes with a picture of the school on the front and sold labels. Our next port-of-call was our Sophomore year, under the leadership of Presi- dent Wayne Wisnoski. The first activity of that year was the sponsorship of the Welcome Dance for Freshmen. Then, along came Homecoming, and our float, ls- land at the South Pacific, won Honorable Mention. We continued to sell our Thank- You-Notes and sponsored record hops to increase our treasury. As is the pride of all sophomores, we ordered our class rings. Navigating our Junior Class was President Warren Gay. The first order of busi- ness was getting our long-awaited class rings. To further increase our funds we sponsored numerous record hops and continued to sell our Thank-You-Notes. We sponsored the Valentines Sweetheart Dance. As the end of our Junior year came, we had the responsibility of sponsoring the Junior-Senior Prome'iMoonlight Magic at the Elks Club in Long Beach. Moonlight Magic provided a beautiful evening for all who attended. The last port-of-call was captioned by President Glenn Klavert. We entered our Senior year eager to enjoy the privileges reserved for llSeniors Only. Reigning over our last Homecoming was radiant Queen Elaine Perron. The traditional Christmas Dance, Enchanted Christmas, highlightei the Yuletide season. With these activities behind us, we faced the most memorable of alleSenior Week. We will never forget the fun we had at the Senior Picnic at Irvine Park, the serenity of Baccalaureate, the fun-filled excitement of our AIl-Night party, and, above all, Commencementea final reality. Through counseling and friendship of Miss Helen Rees, we have emerged tri- umphant from many a storm. Without her navigation we might have drifted from our course. To her we leave all our love and respect. Now, as each of us are at our last port-of-call, we say to the Castle, to the faculty, and our friends: 'lBON VOYAGE
