Because of their lack of experi- ence, the Lynnwood Wrestling Team was picked to take 4th in Wesco. Thanks to a group of young, hard working men, the team fell just shy of winning the Wesco Crown. They shocked the league by finishing second in the Wesco race with a 9-2 win-loss record. The Royals also proved strong in Tournament At South Kitsap, Mike to be action. Stolp was an individual champ- ion and helped the team to a 3rd place finish, At the Edmonds In- vitational it was Matt Slater and Stolp who won their weight classes, giving L nnwood an- other 3rd place Einish. In the Northwest District Tournament the Royals placed 3rd, sending the most wrestlers to Regionals than any other Lynnwood Team has done before - 10 menl Ken Harris and Mike Stolp were in- dividual Champs. Tallying for 8 wins in a row at one point, they placed lst in District, 2nd in Wesco, 5th in Northwest District, and were the only team to beat Everett in three years of league play. Loss plagued the Royal Women three times during regular play as they combined efforts for a 13-3 record. Leadership came in a special way from each member of the squad, with Dode Wilbourne being named Inspirational. Sharing a path of both victory and defeat made working to- gether a memorable experience for them all.
