BLUES GIRLS TRACK It takes a dedicated person to wear the Lynnhaven Blues Track uniform. A person with pride in their school. A person with the determination to cross the finish line with LYHNHAVEN on her chest. The girls track team is this and much more. It begins with a gunshot and ends at the finish line. In between there is sheer excitement. There is not a slow moment in track. One blink and you could have missed the win- ner. It's a stride to victory for the girls. It's not just a race, it's im- proving all the way to your best. Everyone on the team adds a special part to the total effort. The Running Blues have a spe- cial style and spirit that makes them winners no matter what! 170 As the starting pistol sounds the runners dash by the spectators with a sudden burst of energy, carrying the winning spirit within them. This is a common sight for those who have experienced the excitement of a Lynnhaven track meet. However, boys track is not only running, but a combination of field events which require physical strength and endur- ance. With the help of Mr. Maull's BLUES BOYS T RACK excellent coaching and encour- agement the Blues track team strives to defeat the opposing team. Few things give you a such a feeling of accomplishment as passing over the finish line first at the end of a race or earning the highest score in an event. Members of the team train stren- uously to be able to achieve this feeling. For in the end they will be champions.
