150 , Blackman slammed BLUES FIELD HOCKEY The Blues Field Hockey Team finished the season with five wins, two losses, and one tie. They went on to battle the lnde- pendence Eagles in the semi-fin- als for the championship title. Unfortunately, after all their strenuous practices, they lost a hard fought game 1-0. There were twenty two goals scored this season. Ashley in twelve A SUCCESSFUL YEAR goals. Heather Foster finished with six goals. Jennifer Morrison scored three times, and Mary Manning scored once. Without the defense, the team would not have been as success- ful. The three halfbacks, Melissa Moran, Shelly Doolittle, and Carolyn l'lurwitz did an outstand- ing job backing up the offense. The fullbacks, Amy Dunbar and Sara Field pressured the oppos- ing offense out of scoring. Mind Cloyes, goalie, only allowed fou goals to pass by her. Finally, the long-awaited shriek ofthe whistle fills the air and the kicker kicks the ball up, up, through the curtain of darkness above the lights. The ball plunges back down into sight. It drops into the waiting hands of the running back. The crowd roars with excitement. The game has begun. The football season at Lynnha- ven is perhaps the most exciting time of the year.
